Utica man charged with animal torture after video shows him throwing French bulldog
UTICA, Mich. – A Utica man has been charged with animal torture after he was shown on video throwing an 11-month-old French bulldog through the air twice. Police said once they found the dog they realized that she had been abused for much longer than they originally thought. The dog, Nugget, is expected to be OK.“Obviously it’s shocking once you see it. It’s shocking emotionally,” Sean Coady with the Utica Police Department said. Then it shows her owner storm after her, he comes into view and then he throws her again.
Man, woman in custody after thousands view video of Eastpointe puppy abuse
EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A a man and a woman are in custody after thousands of people viewed a social media video of a puppy being abused, Eastpointe police said. Isaac Brooks Sanders and Kershanna Seaborn turned themselves in Wednesday on charges related to the video, authorities said. On Thursday, Eastpoint detectives received a court order for the surrender of the puppy involved in the case, officials said. $500 reward offered for information in abused dog, killed kittens in Dearborn
DEARBORN, Mich. Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two separate animal abuse cases. A dog, believed to be at least 12 years old, was abandoned at the shelter intake facility after hours. On the same night, the shelter said two kittens were found near the intersection of Oakman Boulevard and Warren Avenue. Anyone with any information on either of these cases is asked to call Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit at 313-943-2697. A reward of $500 will be given for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.
Michigan community troubled by possible cat killer
ALLEGAN, Mich. – Residents in a West Michigan community have reported on social media that several cats have been found killed around their town -- sparking rumors of a cat killer. The Allegan community members say several cats have been found mutilated in recent weeks, according to WWMT. Melissa Gilbert, manager of a Shell gas station in Allegan, told WWMT that a man found a mutilated cat’s body in a bag while searching the dumpster for cans and bottles. Residents took to the Allegan Informed Facebook page, reporting it was not the only incident of a mutilated cat in the community. Allegan police said they have had no reports of a cat related incident, but Gilbert claims police didn’t take a report.
Macomb Township man accused of torturing, killing woman’s small dog
MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 27-year-old man has been charged after allegedly killing and torturing a small dog. She reported that Andrea Biondo also lived in the home and been the only one there when the small dog went missing. When he returned home he was placed under arrest and brought to the Macomb County Jail. “This small animal stood no chance against this male and that is where the law steps in. This hateful behavior towards any living creature, animal or human, is unacceptable,” Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said.
