A boxer pitbull mix had been left out in the middle of the deep freeze around Christmas Day. She was curled up in a ball, struggling to stay warm, when rescuers found her in Ecorse near West Jefferson Avenue and West Outer Drive.

Police find parents of newborn left at Sinai-Grace Hospital
DETROIT โ The mother and father of a newborn baby that was dropped off at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit have been found. Police said a man pulled up to the hospital on Thursday, asked someone to hold the baby while he parked his vehicle and then drove away and did not return. Authorities said they were worried about the mother and located the parents thanks to a tip from the public. Police said the woman -- found at a home near the intersection of Lahser Road and Kessler Steet -- is OK.Police are still investigating to see the parents will face charges. It is not against the law to drop a newborn off at a safe place -- like a hospital or a fire station -- but the baby is supposed to given to an employee.

DETROIT โ Police are trying to identify and locate a man who dropped off a baby at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. A man pulled up to Sinai-Grace hospital in the 6000 block of West Outer Drive at 9:27 a.m. on Thursday, exited his vehicle and asked another person who was entering the hospital to hold the baby until he parked the vehicle. The man is described as a Black man in his late 40s or early 50s. Police said he is between 5 feet 10 inches tall or 6 feet 2inches tall and has a medium brown complexion. He was last seen wearing an unknown light-colored hate, light-colored short sleeve shirt and light-colored pants with the left leg of the pants pulled up.
2 men, 14-year-old girl taken into custody accused of targeting DPD officers
DETROIT โ Shots were fired at Detroit police officers Thursday morning during a traffic stop along Telegraph Road near McNichols Road on the cityโs west side. Police said the group taken into custody were looking for officers to shoot. ORIGINAL STORY: Detroit police officers targeted in drive-by shooting: โThey wanted to shoot at policeโAccording to authorities, the officers were targeted at about about 3:30 a.m. during a traffic stop by two men and a 14-year-old girl. While handling the traffic stop, police said they found weapons in the car when a white Kia Sorento drove by and someone inside fired several shots at the officers. The car turned around and fired more shots as it drove by a second time.

2 charged after striking, killing 48-year-old driver while fleeing Detroit police
DETROIT Two people have been charged following the death of a 48-year-old man who was killed in a car crash on Friday. The man was struck by a 19-year-old driver who was fleeing Detroit police. Officers identified the suspects vehicle traveling south on West Outer Drive near Plymouth Road. The 48-year-old man driving the Honda Odyssey was transported to the hospital following the crash, where he was pronounced dead. On Monday Stringer was charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree fleeing and eluding, reckless driving causing death and reckless driving causing serious impairment of bodily function.
18-month-old child shot in Lincoln Park
LINCOLN PARK, Mich. โ Michigan State Police are investigating a non-fatal shooting that injured a child in Lincoln Park on Sunday afternoon. Police say at around 3:30 p.m. a suspect pulled alongside the victimโs car on the northbound I-75 ramp to Outer Drive. The suspect shot at the vehicle multiple times and struck an 18-month-old child, officials said. Michigan State Policeโs Special Investigation Section is investigating the incident at the request of Lincoln Park Police. Officials say this is not a random incident.

DETROIT - Police are looking for a 21-year-old man who they said has a mental illness that has been reported missing. Lawrence Tomlin III was last seen Aug. 16 at 4 a.m. in the 6000 block of West Outer Drive. Man found fatally shot in parking lot at Fort Street, West Outer Drive in Detroit
DETROIT - A man was fatally shot Monday night during a fight near Fort Street and West Outer Drive in Detroit. Detroit police said the 29-year-old victim was arguing with another man about 11 p.m. in a parking lot. That escalated to a fight and the man took out a handgun and shot the 29-year-old man. He ran across the street and fell to the ground in a parking lot. He is described as an 18-year-old black man standing about 5 feet 9 inches and weighing about 175 pounds.
