4th victim dies in hospital after Oxford High School shooting

OXFORD, MI -- A fourth victim has died after the Tuesday shooting at Oxford High School, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. Justin Shilling, 17, died at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac at approximately 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, according to an update from Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe. A total of 11 people were shot, 10 students and a teacher during the Tuesday, Nov. 30 incident at Oxford High School. The sheriff’s office had a preliminary meeting with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday morning and is still gathering more information about the shooting. Pontiac woman’s death ruled a homicide, police say

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI - Police are requesting public assistance to solve the homicide case of a Pontiac woman that died Friday, July 2. Carrie Jo Haley, 44 died Friday at McLaren Oakland Hospital from head injuries she suffered on June 26, said the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in a release. “We are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect or suspects responsible for this slaying,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard in a statement. The county examiner determined Haley suffered injuries that suggested an assault, police said. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office posted a $2,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest.

A caller told police a 34-year-old West Bloomfield man working as a security guard had been knocked out by a hammer. The person responsible was a 34-year-old Pontiac man who fled in a GMC Jimmy, according to authorities. When deputies got to the apartment complex, the West Bloomfield man was unresponsive and lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk outside the main entrance, according to authorities. The Pontiac man was taken to the Oakland County Jail pending formal charges.

Drowning victims identified after vehicle removed from bottom of Terry Lake in Pontiac

PONTIAC, Mich. – A Pontiac man and woman were pronounced dead at an area hospital after being found in a vehicle submerged in Terry Lake. A witness called police on Tuesday night to report that a vehicle was submerged in the lake. Dive team members found the vehicle in approximately 25 feet of water at the bottom of Terry Lake. The victims have been identified as Robert Grandberry, 69, and Cathy Grandberry, 67. Police said there is indication that Robert Grandberry had a medical issue before the vehicle went into the lake.

Oakland County deputies rush baby to hospital while firefighters perform CPR

PONTIAC, Mich. – Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies rushed a choking 10-month-old child to a hospital while firefighters from the Waterford Regional Fire Department performed CPR on the child. Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Parkdale Avenue in Pontiac on Sept. 28 on the report of a 10-month-old child who was conscious and not breathing. Deputies arrived and so did crews from the Waterford Regional Fire Department and CPR was started on the child. Two firefighters put the child in the back seat of a patrol car and continued to perform CPR while a deputy drove them to the hospital. Other deputies worked to clear a path for the patrol car to get to the hospital as safely and as quick as possible.

3 charged in connection with assault that disfigured Pontiac man’s hand

PONTIAC, Mich. – Patrick Fredrick-Deon Leak, Patricia Deneen Osborn and Henry Rahsaun Simms were charged Friday in connection with a violent assault of a Pontiac man. Police said they recovered three of the man’s fingers at the apartment where the assault took place. Leak, 40, was charged with armed robbery and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Osborn, 56, was charged with armed robbery and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Simms, 32, was charged with armed robbery and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.

PONTIAC, Mich. Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a woman Tuesday night in Pontiac. She was rushed to McLaren Oakland Hospital. The truck -- described as a full-size extended cab pickup truck -- fled westbound on W. Huron Road. Surveillance video of the truck can be seen in the video player above. The victim is listed in critical condition at McLaren Oakland with skull, rib, and leg fractures and may not survive.

Pontiac man fatally shot on front porch, $2,000 reward offered for information

PONTIAC, Mich. A 43-year-old man was found dead on the front porch of a Pontiac home Friday night. According to authorities, Oakland County Sheriffs deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Marquette Street just before 9:45 p.m. On arrival, they found a 43-year-old man who had been shot in the head collapsed on the floor of the homes enclosed front porch. Emergency medical crews rushed the man to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information that could lead to an arrest. Pontiac man charged in connection with assaulting, spitting on medical staff while he had COVID-19

PONTIAC, Mich. Pontiac resident Patrick Michael Crawford, 25, has been charged for allegedly assaulting and spitting on staff members at McLaren Oakland Hospital. Police say Crawford assaulted the medical staff Friday, May 15. According to authorities, Crawford was brought to McLaren Oakland Hospital Friday and when the medical staff attempted to treat him, he attacked them. Police said he was restrained and placed in isolation and when doctors began to evaluate Crawford, he made threats, said he was infected with COVID-19 and began spitting at the physician and Emergency Room staff. ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A 29-year-old man is accused of killing his mother Sunday morning in Orion Township. According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, authorities were contacted just before 12:30 a.m. by a 60-year-old man who claimed he had been stabbed by his nephew. The suspect was apprehended by deputies on Rohr Road. Deputies said they went to the residence in the 4500 block of Rohr Road where they located the man who called them. The 29-year-old man was taken into custody without incident and is lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending criminal charges.

Pontiac man arrested in connection with premeditated murder case, officials say

PONTIAC, Mich. - A Pontiac man has been arrested in connection with a premeditated murder case, officials said. Oakland County deputies said they found a man in the doorway of the home with two gunshot wounds to the torso. McNeir was arrested and held at the Oakland County Jail. He was arraigned Thursday morning on charges of first-degree premeditated murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. First-degree premeditated murder is a life felony.
