Metro Detroit weather forecast: Rainfall deficit gets worse across SE Michigan
DETROIT – Our rainfall deficit is getting worse across southeast Michigan, but the weekend opportunities to get wet are looking better. The good news is areas that are in a moderate drought didn’t get any worse. We’re fairly confident that the higher rainfall totals will be in the South Zone and up the east side. Here’s some bonus good news: some models are suggesting we may keep rain chances around into Tuesday as well! Believe it or not, we could actually have more than one day next week with highs below 80!

Metro Detroit weather forecast: Temperatures to stay consistent this week
DETROIT Even though most of us didnt get appreciable rain on Monday, those who did were in the most drought-stricken areas. Right now, it looks like the South Zone has the best chance of getting wet. Staying ComfortableTemperatures will be consistent through the week, running near normal. We should cool by a few degrees early next week, but it wont be a huge departure. This has been the sixth hottest July on record, and even though we may fall a spot or two by the end of the work week, it will still be a top ten finish.

Metro Detroit weather forecast: 90 degree days are just around the corner
DETROIT Clouds and rain kept a lid on temperatures today, but the 90s are just around the corner. Heat SpikingEven though air temperatures didnt get to the 80s, you probably noticed the higher humidity. Well lose a bit of that humidity but get a lot more heat for Friday. Highs will finish close to 90, but probably fall short of that mark in many locations. Monday may be our last 90-degree day this streak, which should end at three days vs. the eight we recorded earlier this month.

DETROIT Were above normal today and bracing for more heat as the weekend approaches. Showers and storms soonOur best and most organized round of rain this week will arrive late tonight, but mostly during the first half of Thursday. 90s on deckThursdays early rain and rumbles plus afternoon clouds should keep the 90s at bay for one more day. However, it does look temperatures may be slightly less scorching by the middle of next week. Along with the slightly lower temps will be slightly lower humidity than earlier data were suggesting.

Not So Calm After The Storm, June 11, 2020, noon update
Not So Calm After The Storm, June 11, 2020, noon updatePublished: June 11, 2020, 12:18 pmYesterday's storms knocked out power to nearly 400,000 customers, but those storms are thankfully well off to our east, with a cooler, drier air mass moving in. The day ahead will feature partial cloud cover early this morning, followed by mostly sunny skies for the balance of the day. It'll be a windy day, though, with west winds at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts over 30 mph possible. These winds have prompted a Lakeshore Flood Warning for the Harsens Island / Algonac area. Highs today will reach the mid to upper 70s, but even cooler air is headed this way for the weekend.

Metro Detroit weather forecast: Heat ramps up leading to summers official start
DETROIT As cleanup continues from Wednesday's powerful storms, we get to enjoy a pleasant and cool stretch into early next week, before the heat ramps up again leading to summer's official start. Temps DipWalking out the door today was a stark contrast to yesterday's heat and humidity. Metro Airport officially recorded only 0.19" yesterday, so we're still more than an inch behind normal for the month. And after this cool snap over the weekend, temperatures will soar back to the upper 80s by Wednesday. Humidity will come back with it, but it wont be as tropical as what Cristobal brought us yesterday.
