Mini desserts for your smaller holiday meals
This Thanksgiving is likely going to be a more modest event with smaller gatherings because of the pandemic. Weโre cooking far less food for far fewer people, but we certainly donโt want to skimp on some of our favorites, especially dessert. Chef Shanel Dewalt, the Executive Chef with Great Lakes Culinary Center, shared some great ideas on how to make mini-desserts perfect for smaller gatherings. The Chef baked her family favorites but in smaller containers which luckily wonโt take as long so you can enjoy your sweet treats faster this year. She also suggests dropping off mini desserts on your loved oneโs doorstep so they can enjoy a sweet treat with you virtually in the comfort of their own home.

Cannoli consumption is up as Ann Arbor-based BLISS takes off
ANN ARBOR, Mich. Ann Arbor native Elizabeth Sinawe is using her mothers recipe to help Tree Town increase its cannoli consumption. Cannolis are my favorite dessert, Sinawe said stating that the BLISS business name came from the state of bliss and happiness she experiences when she has her mothers homemade cannolis. While there are some traditional flavors, Sinawe experiments with flavors based on desserts that she likes. Sinawe said that the BLISS cannoli recipe, her mothers, was used to make cannolis in the Ann Arbor Italian restaurant her parents owned around 20 years ago. Instead, Sinawe has two pick-up locations: Ann Arbor and West Bloomfield; however, she has delivered to other areas, like Detroit, Royal Oak, Dearborn, Ypsilanti and Canton.
