St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and communities already getting in on the festivities. In Lake Orion, Canterbury Village turns green for Leprechaun Days. Kids can roam the village collecting hidden coins and exchanging for prizes at the village shops. There will also be a petting zoo, kids DJ, food, crafters and more. New this year, the village has built what they call the world’s largest Irish coffee mug, standing over 6 feet, and able to hold around 600 gallons. The event happens Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Now through December 31st, all unwrapped, new toy donations can be placed in the Chevrolet Silverado, which will be parked next to the 43 Ft. This food truck rally is a great way to dine-out while social distancing!
A perfect way to do that is to feast at a food truck rally! The Michigan MEGA Food Truck Rally is happening this Saturday, July 4th at Canterbury Village in Orion Township. Unlike last year, there will be no tables or chairs, guests are expected to walk around the park at a safe distance, going from food stand to food stand. Currently, there are 25 food trucks expected to be in attendance, and they may add a few more before the event this Saturday. Galindo’s “A Taste of Mexico” food truck is returning for its second year at the rally.
Drive-in movie theaters set to reopen as other theaters remain closed due to COVID-19
DEARBORN, Mich. Drive-in movie theaters have started to make a comeback in recent years, and with movie theaters shut down due to coronavirus (COVID-19) they could be poised for a major comeback. The Ford-Wyoming Drive-in in Dearborn opens for a midnight show on Thursday night and there appeared to be a big crowd. In Plymouth, its year 17 for the drive-in that appears in the parking lot of USA Hockey. General Manager Mike Henry is coming up with ways to limit the need for moviegoers to get out of their cars. ‘Governor just shut us down’: Canterbury Village postpones drive-in movie nights scheduled during COVID-19 pandemic
LAKE ORION, Mich. – Canterbury Village is postponing drive-in movies that were scheduled this week and next week. The postponement announcement was posted to the Canterbury Village Facebook page with the message that the “governor just shut us down.”According to the post, the governor halted the event. Keith Aldridge, who owns Canterbury Village, said there were plans in place to make the drive-in safe and socially distanced. You could listen to the movie on your FM radio and we decided against trying to do concessions," he said. When Canterbury Village posted to its Facebook page the governor shut the drive-in down, it became a keyboard war in the comments between those disappointed, those furious and others who support Michigan Gov.
