Police questioning person of interest after woman’s ‘suspicious’ death in Canton Township
CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are questioning a person of interest in the “suspicious” death of a 65-year-old woman in Canton Township. Officials said they found the woman dead around 7:45 a.m. Monday (Feb. 22) at her home in the 4100 block of Kimberly Drive. Authorities said they were “actively investigating this suspicious incident.”At 2 p.m. Monday, police said they have one person of interest in custody for questioning in connection with the woman’s death. “Our officers and detectives have been working diligently to investigate the facts of this morning’s incident,” Deputy Chief Craig Wilsher said. Person of interest in custody after man found stabbed to death outside Belle Tire in Troy
TROY, Mich. – Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death outside a Belle Tire in Troy. Police were called to the parking lot of a Belle Tire at 4966 Rochester Road in Troy at around 7 a.m. on Monday. Employees arriving for work found the man lying next to the front entrance of the building. Police said it is unknown how long he was outside, but his body was found covered in snow. A knife was found in the parking lot but it’s unclear if that is the knife that was used in the stabbing, police said.
Monroe County investigating after missing man found dead
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating a man’s death after the body of a missing man was found in Monroe County Saturday afternoon. According to authorities, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Bedford Township after someone had found a body in the woods. Port Huron police are treating the death investigation as a homicide. Police asked to reopen investigation into death of teen found hanging from noose in Trenton basement
TRENTON, Mich. Police have been asked to reopen an investigation into the death of a teenager who was found hanging from a noose in the basement of a Trenton home eight years ago. Anthony Holman said hell never forget when he found his friend, James Franklin, 17, hanging in the basement of a Trenton home on Oct. 22, 2012. But Franklins brother, Elijah Stallworth, told the Local 4 Defenders he doesnt believe his brother killed himself. Trenton police investigated for a second time, and the autopsy didnt reveal any trauma to Franklins head. But this week, Trentons police chief posted on Facebook that the department is working with the Wayne County Prosecutors Office on the case.
Death investigation underway after neighbor finds body in doorway of Sterling Heights home
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A death investigation is underway in Sterling Heights after a neighbor discovered a woman’s body Monday. “I heard sirens earlier but I assumed they passed through. I did not know they were right outside my front door,” one neighbor said. Police have not commented on the woman’s cause of death, but they did say the scene was contained and there was no danger to the public. Police are reviewing surveillance cameras from homes as they try to piece together what happened.

Detroit police open investigation after body found in Corktown building
DETROIT – Police have opened an investigation Thursday morning after a man’s body was found in Corktown. Detroit Police officers shut down the street as crime scene investigators and homicide investigators try to determine how the man died. Sources told Local 4 that police believe the man could have been breaking into the building, cut an artery and quickly bled to death. People who know the victim told Local 4 they believe he was seeking shelter from the cold. Police said the man did not freeze to death, but that he may have been seeking shelter from the cold.
