The Detroit police are searching for a man who shot and killed two people on Detroitโs west side, officials say. The shooting happened on Evergreen Road between Lyndon Street and Schoolcraft. Police say the man theyโre looking for was in the vehicle with the two victims outside the Smith Homes Apartments.

The incident happened around 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the area of Schoolcraft and Greenfield roads, according to authorities. Detroit man accused of shooting fiancรฉe 4 times, her mother twice after being released from prison early
DETROIT โ A man who was recently released from prison two years early is accused of shooting his fiancรฉe and her mother on Detroitโs west side. The 49-year-old man is accused of shooting his fiancรฉe and her 64-year-old mother after the mother attempted to break up the altercation and called the police. However, a judge recently authorized Segarsโ compassionate release from prison amid the coronavirus pandemic and due to medical reasons. The judge said he agreed to release the man from prison early due to a clean disciplinary record behind bars. Her mother was recently released from the hospital, officials say.
Attempted burglars unable to break into Livonia gun store
LIVONIA, Mich. โ Police are looking for would-be burglars after a failed burglary at a Livonia gun store. According to authorities, someone attempted to break into Uncoiled Firearms and Gun Range, located near the intersection of Middlebelt and Schoolcraft roads, Thursday morning, but were unable to get inside the building after throwing a rock at a window. 3 young boys reported missing from Livonia hotel found safe
Michigan State Police are looking for three missing children taken from a hotel in Livonia. Officials say three young boys -- Peyton King, Mikha Pharmes and Ty-Reem Eugene Pharmes -- were taken from the Hampton Inn near Schoolcraft and Middlebelt Road. Peyton King was last seen wearing a black jacket, white and black sweatpants and a red t-shirt. Mikha Pharmes was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a green t-shirt. Ty-Reem Pharmes was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a green t-shirt.
Detroit hit-and-run leaves pedestrian in critical condition
DETROIT โ Police are looking for the driver of a Polaris Slingshot that was involved in a hit-and-run Sunday morning. According to authorities, the crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Greenfield and Schoolcraft roads. The driver stopped briefly, police said, before driving off. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where they are in critical condition. Nasty stretch of Merriman Road in Livonia to undergo resurfacing beginning July 6
LIVONIA, Mich. โ One of the most cratered and crumbling sections of Merriman Road in Livonia will undergo a $1.73 million resurfacing project starting Monday, July 6. The city of Livonia is alerting drivers about reduced lanes and slow travel on Merriman Road from Plymouth Road to Schoolcraft (I-96 Service Drive) starting Monday as the road is resurfaced and repaired. The city says initial work will begin on the outside lanes in each direction, with motorists allowed to drive in lanes adjacent to the center turn lane. Once the outside lanes are resurfaced, traffic will be allowed on the outside lanes. The Wayne County Department of Public Service is in charge the $1.73 million road improvement that includes about one mile of hot mix asphalt, cold milling and resurfacing, concrete pavement repair, sidewalk ramps and pavement markings.
77-year-old store clerk killed in Detroit armed robbery
DETROIT - A 77-year-old store clerk was shot and killed during an armed robbery on Detroit's west side Saturday night. According to authorities, Lewis Purtus was closing up a store near the intersection of Schoolcraft and Greenfield roads when he was ambushed. Police said thieves demanded his money, shot him in the chest twice and fled the scene. Purtus' family said he was a loving grandfather who just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary.
