Mary Alice Ellicott was at the Polar Bear Bar, on U.S. 12 between Clinton and Saline, on Oct. 11, 1981. Her body was found 13 days later in a grassy field, less than 2 miles away, a victim of a homicide. โWhenever you're working on a cold case you have to open up the box and go over everything.โNo tip is too small. 2 charged 10 years after being considered possible suspects in Waterford Township manโs murder
WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of a Waterford Township man more than 10 years after they were initially considered possible suspects in the case, police said. Ruben Guttierrez Jr. lived with his parents in a garage that had been converted into his own living space at their Waterford Township home, police said. Guttierrez was home the night of Nov. 11, 2009, and into the next day, but he remained in his room, according to authorities. He was officially pronounced dead by Waterford Township police. ChargesBarnes and Hobson are both charged with felony murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Michigan man charged in estranged wifeโs 2006 cold case slaying
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. โ A man has been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of his estranged wife more than a decade ago in western Michigan. Michael Pagel, 55, was arraigned via video Thursday in Grand Rapids. Renee Pagel, 41, was stabbed to death in 2006 in her Courtland Township home, northeast of Grand Rapids. He moved with the coupleโs three children to Saginaw County after the slaying, according to MLive.com. The investigation eventually was turned over to a cold case team.
Remains found in Michigan might be missing girl from '89
ALLEGAN, Mich. โ Investigators in western Michigan might have discovered the remains of a missing teenager whose adoptive father was recently charged in a 1980 homicide in Virginia. Aundria Bowman was 14 when she disappeared in 1989 in Allegan County. Skeletal remains were found in a shallow grave under cement Wednesday in the county's Monterey Township, Undersheriff Mike Larsen said. News organizations, citing property records, said the land where the remains were found is owned by Dennis Bowman. โDuring the course of (the Doyle) investigation, investigators continued to search for answers as to the whereabouts of Aundria,โ Larsen said.
