Police: Suspected burglars shoot at officers, chased through Wayne County
INKSTER, Mich. โ A dangerous chain of events played out Sunday across several cities in Wayne County. Officers from several police departments, including Michigan State Police, are involved in the investigation. The Dodge escaped westbound on Michigan Avenue, where they were pursued by Wayne police officers. Police said Wayne officers were shot at during the pursuit, which was taken over by Michigan State Police once the suspects reached I-94. Police are looking for suspected gunmen who reportedly tried to run Inkster police officers over before a pursuit across Wayne County on Dec. 27, 2020.
Apartment undergoing renovations from recent fire in Southfield catches fire
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. โ No one was injured during a Thursday morning apartment fire in Southfield. Southfield Fire Department chief Johnny Menifee said the building was undergoing renovations and there was a previous fire in the same unit. The fire happened at the Carnegie Park Apartment complex, located near the intersection of 11 Mile and Inkster roads. Multiple fire departments helped battle the three-alarm fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. โ Police are investigating a multiple-homicide at an apartment complex in Dearborn Heights that ended in a police shooting on Saturday. โThank God he didnโt kill me,โ McCullough said of the gunman. โThe police came, but he started shooting at them.โMcCullough said there was about a five minute standoff before the gunman was killed by police officers. He also said that police gave the gunman every opportunity to put down his weapon, but he would not comply. Police confirmed Saturday night that it started as a domestic incident and the gunman was related to one of the victims.

Man shot twice in attempted robbery in Inkster, Michigan state troopers seek culprit
INKSTER, Mich. Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting that happened during an attempted robbery Saturday night. According to authorities, it happened just before 11 p.m. in the 28000 block of Glennwood Street in Inkster, near Inkster Road and Avondale Street. Police said someone pulled a gun on a driver in an attempt to rob people in a truck. Police said the suspect fired at least two shots at the vehicle, hitting only the driver. State troopers are still looking for the culprit.
2 in custody after man fatally shot outside Westland home
WESTLAND, Mich. โ Two people are in custody after a man was found fatally shot outside a Westland home on Monday night. Police said shots were fired at a home on Van Born Road, a few blocks west of Inkster Road. Westland police and Michigan State Police are on scene. Police said a father, his daughter and his daughterโs boyfriend live in the home. The boyfriend was outside of the home and thatโs when police said he kicked in the door to get inside the house and was shot at and killed.

2 charged in connection with fatal shooting of Romulus man at gas station
ROMULUS, Mich. Two people have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Brian Eugene Davis, 40, of Romulus. Davis was shot and killed on May 19 at 8:35 p.m. in Romulus. Police officers were called to a gas station in the 27400 block of Eureka Road near Inkster Road. When officers arrived they saw the Romulus Fire Department rescue and Taylor rescue teams on scene. Officials said Davis approached the defendants vehicle and McMillon, who was a passenger, pulled out a weapon and shot Davis.

INKSTER, Mich. โ An argument led to a man getting shot outside an Inkster liquor store Wednesday, police said. Police said the 33-year-old victim was walking into Leonโs Party Store on Inkster Road, just south of Avondale Street, before noon when a man walked up and started arguing with him. LIVONIA, Mich. โ Robbers used a shotgun to beat a 7-Eleven clerk during a robbery early Wednesday in Livonia. The clerk was working at the store at 7 Mile and Inkster roads just after 1 a.m. when two men wearing masked rushed him. The clerk said the men asked him if he wanted to die and told him to open the storeโs safe. The clerk does not have access to the safe, so the men continued to beat him. โI got busted on the side of the head," the clerk told the 911 dispatcher.

INKSTER, Mich. โ A Ring camera caught people checking for unlocked cars in Inkster early Tuesday. The people walked down a block in the area of west Inkster Road and Avondale Street at about 1 a.m., checking car doors to see if they were locked. Police reminded residents to lock their vehicles and make a report if someone has broken into their car. If you have information about the people checking cars Tuesday, you are asked to contact police at 313-400-5387.

TAYLOR, Mich. - Eureka Road between Beech Daly Road and Inkster Road is closed due to a downed power line and standing water, according to Taylor police. Police said there is several feet of water.
