DETROIT โ A Detroit investment advisor took $90,000 from two of his clients and spent the money for himself, according to officials. Lawrence Roberson, 74, of Detroit, defrauded the victims through his company, Wealth Management Group, authorities said. WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. โ Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has cleared a Washtenaw County deputy involved in a rough arrest that led to days of protests. A deputy with the Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office was accused of striking a woman at a shooting scene three times in her head. The allegations sparked charges of racism and police brutality and led to four days of protests against the department. Nessel said her office would review any allegations of police misconduct and brutality, and investigation revealed the woman making the claims, ShaโTeina Grady, was the person using force against the deputy, according to authorities. Grady inflicted severe injuries on the deputy after she was asked to stop interfering with their investigation, officials said.

The Cass County Prosecutors Office asked the Attorney General's Office to appoint a special prosecutor after a viral video showed hundreds of people in swimsuits Saturday gathered at Diamond Lake, near Cassopolis in Cass County, WOOD-TV reported. The prosecutors office says it asked for the review because of a conflict of interest stemming from a longtime affiliation with one of the lake associations. Gretchen Whitmers office said it was incredibly disappointing to see so many people ignoring safe distance guidelines. Washtenaw County Sheriff: Body cam footage from deputy shows woman bit officer
Footage from the deputy in questions body cam reveals ShaTeina Grady El bit the officer during the altercation. According to Sheriff Clayton, Grady El bit the deputy first and he responded by punching her. According to the body cam footage, an officer tended to a gunshot victim who was sitting in her car. Sheriff Clayton would not comment on whether punching is an appropriate use of force against a suspect or if it is part of training. The body cam footage was released after days of protests outside the Washtenaw County Sheriffs Office and on Washtenaw Avenue near US-23 where hundreds of protesters gathered to demand answers for excessive force used by the sheriffs deputy.
