Flurries and light snow are ongoing across a good portion of the Lower Peninsula on this Monday morning, along with some lake effect snow near Marquette. Outside of the advisory area across far southern lower Michigan, eastern Michigan, and northern Lower Michigan, snow totals of 1 inch or less are expected today. Even across the U.P., very little accumulation is forecast, although there is some light lake effect snow ongoing in and near Marquette, so an isolated 1-plus inch amount is at least possible. A north wind is unfavorable for lake effect snow across interior lower Michigan, so dry weather is expected for tonight as mostly cloudy skies gradually give way to partial clearing overnight and toward Tuesday morning. Some lake effect snow can’t be ruled out overnight in the thumb and immediately along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
