Police: Murder suspect taken into custody on Detroit’s west side
Police have just taken a murder suspect into custody after he barricaded himself in a home with a woman and child on Tireman and Greenfield on Detroit’s west side. The standoff lasted a short time, officials say. Police say the alleged gunman pulled out an SRT as authorities surrounded the home. The barricaded gunman refused to come outside when officers approached the home, police say.

Officials said the discovery was made at 1:26 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 23) in the area of Tireman Avenue and Prairie Street. The man’s body was found inside a black Chevy Impala, according to authorities. Man drives to gas station after being shot on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A 22-year-old man drove himself to a gas station after being shot on Detroit’s west side Saturday night. Police said the victim started to drive away when an unknown person fired a gunshot into the victim’s vehicle. Police said the victim drove to a gas station a few blocks north, in the 15400 block of Joy Road, where he then called 911. Video: Detroit police seek man wanted in carjacking on city’s west side
DETROIT – Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an Oct. 27 carjacking on Detroit’s west side. Police said a black Nissan drove up to a pump and the driver entered the store. While the passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was sitting in the Nissan, an armed man approached the car and orderd the woman to get out at gunpoint. Body found in burned SUV on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – An investigation is underway after a body was found Tuesday morning inside a burned SUV. Detroit firefighters were called about 1 a.m. Tuesday to Hazlett Street and Tireman Avenue on the city’s west side. Firefighters were distinguishing the flames when they found the body inside the burned Dodge Durango. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head before the vehicle was burned. Detroit woman raises money for COVID-19 victims after father dies from virus
DETROIT A woman who lost her father during the height of the coronavirus pandemic is raising money to help other struggling families. Aug. 15, 2020: Michigan coronavirus (COVID-19) cases up to 92,155; Death toll now at 6,318Wilson Shopoff, 92, died of coronavirus-related health issue in April. His daughter, Donna Law, said she got the idea to raise money for others after struggling to pay her fathers hospital bills. The fundraiser is sponsored by Mutts & Mutts Animal Rescue League. Its happening every weekend at Booth 70 at the Tireman Flea Market, located on Tireman Avenue, just east of Hubbell Avenue.

Police seek missing 51-year-old Detroit man
DETROIT Police are seeking assistance to locate a 51-year-old man who went missing on Monday. Officials say Roger OHara was last near Tireman and Wyoming avenues after walking away from his residence at around 3:08 p.m. in the 8000 block of Roselawn Street. OHara is described as standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 260 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes. Officials say he is in good physical condition but may suffer from mental complications. Man shot while pumping gas in Detroit
DETROIT A 30-year-old man was shot while pumping gas in Detroit early Saturday morning, police said. According to police, the man was at a gas station around 1:30 a.m. in the area of Tireman Avenue and Epworth Street when three suspects pulled up in a silver vehicle and fired shots. The man was shot but drove himself to the hospital, officials said. Police say the suspects are described as black males. Dearborn police seek gas station robber
DEARBORN, Mich. - An armed robbery happened Tuesday morning at the Citco gas station at Tireman Avenue and Greenfield Road in Dearborn. No one was injured during the robbery.
