Police added he was heavily armed, wearing body armor and barricaded himself inside the Royal Oak residence. Authorities said communication was reestablished with the suspected gunman after the drone was disabled. Sterling Heights police search for missing 15-year-old last seen Monday
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. โ Sterling Heights police are searching for 15-year-old Scarlet McCoy who was last seen at an apartment complex on Crooks Road between 13 Mile and 14 Mile roads. Police said Scarlet was last seen between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday, and her cellphone is shut off. She is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 105 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Modernized southbound lanes to open on I-75 between Adams, 13 Mile roads
Southbound I-75 traffic in Oakland County will begin shifting to newly constructed lanes on Thursday evening. Southbound I-75 traffic has been sharing the northbound side of the freeway between Adams and 13 Mile roads due to road and bridge reconstruction. Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, one lane will be closed on southbound I-75 between Adams and 13 Mile roads to prepare for the switch. Officials say that southbound I-75 traffic will be utilizing the newly constructed southbound lanes by 5 a.m. on Friday. Officials say there will be two lanes open for both directions on I-75 between 8 Mile and Adams roads during Labor Day weekend.
Truck ends up on top of Mustang in St. Clair Shores collision
ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. A collision Saturday in St. Clair Shores put a pickup truck on top of a Ford Mustang. The crash happened on 13 Mile Road, near Harper Avenue. Police havent released many details, but the driver of the Mustang walked away from the crash with a cut on his arm.
Shakespeare Royal Oak offers virtual summer camp after canceling season due to COVID-19
ROYAL OAK, Mich. For nearly 20 years at the corner of 13 Mile and Crooks roads in Royal Oak, a band of merry players has brought the works of William Shakespeare to life with their performances. This year, the Shakespeare in the Park performances will be canceled for the first time ever. The coronavirus (COVID-19) forced the company to cancel its season for the first time, but in many ways, the show must go on. The company is offering a virtual summer camp for children and adults as it teaches its craft with the Virtual Bard series of online workshops. There are four different workshop series for different age groups.
Gunman barricades himself in St. Clair Shores after injuring people in shooting
ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - Police in St. Clair Shores blocked off the area of St. Margaret Street and 13 Mile Road overnight because of a barricaded gunman. Witnesses told Local 4 a man was firing a gun outside after getting upset about fireworks. Sources told Local 4 two people were shot, including a 12-year-old girl, who was struck in the arm. A 62-year-old handicapped woman was shot in the calf, sources said. St. Clair Shores police car.
