Two teenagers from Dearborn were arrested this week when an armed robbery in Royal Oak led to a high-speed police chase through Royal Oak, Birmingham and Troy before ending at the Oakland Mall, officials said.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – An 18-year-old driver was killed overnight when he fled Royal Oak police at high speeds and crashed violently into a pole, according to officials. They terminated the pursuit at the border of Royal Oak, near 11 Mile and John R roads. Royal Oak officers saw the car, which had no license plate, heading west on 11 Mile Road near Stephenson Highway, according to authorities. Officers called Royal Oak firefighters, who used the jaws of life to free the man from the wreckage. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Royal Oak officials are investigating the crash.
70-year-old charged after man stabbed in back in Royal Oak
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A 70-year-old man has been charged after someone was stabbed in the back in Royal Oak, police said. Royal Oak officers were called around 2:50 p.m. Feb. 27 to the area of Judson Avenue and Greenfield Road, according to authorities. Police said a 52-year-old man had been stabbed in the back with a knife. Samuel Lee Bourne, Jr., 70, was taken into custody, officials said. In an attempt to speak to the man, an officer approached Moss’ front porch and rang the doorbell. Moss reportedly appeared behind the door pointing a rifle at the officer while demanding to know why they were at his home.
Police: String Of Cell Phone Robberies In Metro Detroit
METRO DETROIT, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) A string of cell phone store robberies have occurred throughout Metro Detroit according to Royal Oak Police. It happened at a Sprint store located at 31668 Woodward in Royal Oak where police say four suspects were wearing black hats, glove and masks. Police also confirmed businesses in Southfield and Farmington Hills were hit: a Sprint store located on 29000 block of Southfield Road and a Verizon Go Wireless located at 27905 Orchard Lake Road. Police believe five suspects took cell phones, watches and other merchandise and left in a smaller light colored SUV.
