A flood watch is in effect for Detroit in the early auto Southeast Michigan. Sanilac County is excluded. That said, the entire region should be on guard for flooding from this evening through the first half of tomorrow.

There is officially a Flood Watch in effect for part of Lower Michigan. While periods of moderate to occasionally heavy rain are still on the way, the threat of flooding is lessening some. Firstly, the flooding will probably be limited to poor drainage areas at low spots in the highly concreted southeast Michigan. Another couple of rounds of steady, moderate rain are likely this afternoon into tonight, and for the southeast third of Lower Michigan. Another round of significant rain will move from southeast Michigan this evening to western Lower Michigan overnight and Thursday.

Remember, freezing rain is extremely deceiving because it’s liquid water when it falls but turns to solid ice upon impact. 9 a.m. to noon SaturdayAs it becomes colder, freezing rain develops north and west of Detroit. The steadiest, most widespread freezing rain will fall in Livingston, Oakland and Macomb counties northward to the I-69 corridor and the thumb. 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. SaturdayTemperatures hover around the freezing mark around the region, and freezing rain becomes more scattered.
