DETROIT โ A barricaded gunman situation ended in northwest Detroit Thursday after the suspect surrendered. Detroit police surrounded a home on Coyle Street near West Chicago and Greenfield Road. Police said a 24-year-old man allegedly fired a shot at a 19-year-old woman and her sister after an argument over childcare money. Police said the suspect then barricaded himself. The man eventually surrendered after police played a recording of his mother pleading for him to come out.

43-year-old injured by unknown shooter in Detroit
DETROIT โ Police are searching for an unknown shooter who injured a 43-year-old man on Saturday, Oct. 25 during a shooting. The shooting happened around 6:50 p.m. in the 14300 block of Maddelein Street in Detroit. Police say the victim was getting out of his car when shots were fired by the shooter from the inside of an unknown vehicle. The victim suffered a grazed wound and was released at the scene by medics. The shooting took place around 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 17000 block of Ivanhoe in Roseville. According to police, the shooting took place after two people were showing each other their illegal handguns. โIt appears the shooting was accidental by all of the people present who are cooperating with investigators,โ the Roseville Police Department stated in a press release. Police say the shooter is being held at the Roseville Police Department as the investigation continues.

Before all the chaos started Wednesday at an apartment complex in Superior Township, Dakota Turner was unknowingly right there with the gunman. โIโm going around and I see this guy and heโs got a really like mean stare on his face,โ recalled Turner. Turner was working his landscaping job in the neighborhood and thought offering this strange man some help was the right thing to do.

Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton could not confirm how the man died. The gunman was identified by a member of the condo board of directors as Nathan Hardenburg. A man said he and his son were handling lawn care when they encountered the shooter. The man, like other residents, was forced to stay inside for hours.

Law enforcement have surrounded a home in Superior Township after responding to a report of shots being fired between neighbors, officials said. According to police, a gunman took a man and woman hostage inside the home early Tuesday morning. Police said they tried to pull over the gunman at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in Redford Township, but he took off. Original reports stated the man fired at officers, but police later clarified he did not fire directly at officers -- he just fired a shot. Heโs also made threats against police officers, Craig said.

HALIFAX, NS โ Canadian police said at least 16 people were killed after a 51-year-old man went on a shooting rampage across the northern part of the province of Nova Scotia. He was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in a gas station in Enfield, Nova Scotia, northwest of downtown Halifax. โI never imagined when I went to bed last night that I would wake up to the horrific news that an active shooter was on the loose in Nova Scotia," Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil. Christine Mills, a resident of the town, said it had been a frightening night for the small town, with armed officers patrolling the streets. DETROIT โ Detroit's police chief says a gunman who fatally shot one officer and wounded another was trying "to bait" them as they searched a home for him.
