Michigan State Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward after the driver of a red truck struck and killed a man on M-39 in Detroit.

The southbound lanes of M-39 at Ford Road in Wayne County have reopened.

A dispute over a lane caused one driver to try to force another off of a Wayne County freeway before eventually firing gunshots at the other car, police said.

DETROIT – Police are looking for an individual accused of shooting at vehicles on I-96 early Sunday morning following a car crash they were involved in. Michigan State Police say at about 12:10 a.m. a woman’s vehicle was shot at while driving on I-96. According to the woman and other witnesses, the shooter was involved in a car crash with the victim prior to the reported shooting, police say. The victim and the suspect collided in Detroit at Grand River Avenue and Linsday Street. Another driver reportedly approached police as they spoke with the victim, saying his vehicle was also struck by gunfire related to the incident.

All northbound lanes of I-75 have reopened at Southfield Road in Lincoln Park after closing for several hours Thursday morning due to a crash involving a semi truck. DETROIT – Michigan State Police said troopers were dispatched about 3:20 a.m. Monday to northbound Southfield Freeway (M-39) just north of 8 Mile Road after the report of a shooting in Detroit. There had been a shooting that police believe happened on 7 Mile Road near the Southfield Freeway. The victim fled the area after being shot, entered northbound Southfield Freeway but came to a rest on the freeway, blocking the left northbound lane just north of 8 Mile Road. Another vehicle that was not involved in the shooting rear-ended the shooting victim’s vehicle. State police said the shooting victim fled the crash scene on foot and was located by Southfield police.

All northbound lanes of M-39 (Southfield Freeway) have reopened at 8 Mile following a closure for an unspecified reason. No other information has been provided other than it was an “incident.”

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The driver of a tow truck was rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning after colliding with the eastbound I-94 bridge in Allen Park, according to officials. Michigan State Police say at about 5:35 a.m. the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving southbound on Southfield Freeway. Officials say the driver was trapped in the vehicle and was removed by the fire department. He was then rushed to a hospital and listed in serious, but stable, condition. The westbound I-94 ramp to southbound Southfield Freeway was initially closed for repairs but has been reopened.

Lanes are blocked on Southfield Freeway (M-39) northbound after Warren Avenue and southbound after Joy Road due to flooding. The left shoulder and left lane are also blocked on Interstate 94 westbound after Interstate 75. Rain is expected for Tuesday night into Wednesday. DETROIT Devonte Andre Burton was charged Wednesday afternoon in connection with a nonfatal shooting on the Southfield Freeway Saturday. According to authorities, just before 6 p.m., officers with the Detroit Police Department and Michigan State Police responded to reports of a shooting on the Southfield Freeway. Authorities found a woman slumped over the steering wheel of their vehicle and rushed the 31-year-old Detroit woman to a hospital. She is expected to survive, due in part because of a Good Samaritan who pulled over to help. Investigation by MSP and DPD led to the apprehension of Burton, a 28-year-old man from Dearborn Heights.

DETROIT – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday on the Southfield Freeway, near Puritan Avenue just before 6 p.m. According to authorities, troopers were responding to reports of a person slumped over the steering wheel of their vehicle. Police arrived on scene and found the vehicle blocking a lane with a bullet hole in the front passenger side window. Authorities said the woman was unable to speak at the hospital, but was able to nod or shake her head to basic questions and indicated she knew who shot her. She is currently undergoing medical treatment.

DETROIT – Someone opened fire on a semi truck Tuesday morning along the Southfield Freeway (M-39) near 7 Mile Road in Detroit. Michigan State Police said it happened about 6:20 a.m. on the northbound Southfield Freeway exit ramp to 7 Mile Road. A car pulled up alongside the semi truck and someone from inside the car fired multiple shots at the truck. The car was last seen traveling westbound on 7 Mile Road. DETROIT – A crash momentarily shut down the southbound lanes of M-39 (Southfield Freeway) at Grand River. At least one lane is back open allowing traffic to get by. The crash was reported at 2 a.m. No word on any injuries.
