A man was killed in a crash that happened southbound M-39 north of Plymouth around 5:25 a.m. Sunday. According to Michigan State Police, the driver of a disabled car left his vehicle and was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian then caught fire.

ANN ARBOR โ A Michigan State Police trooperโs vehicle was struck by a passing car on Wednesday when the officer was about to exit the patrol car. The officer was about to perform a traffic stop on E/B M-14 near Barton Drive at 9:45 p.m. when the incident occurred. During that traffic stop, it was revealed that the 31-year-old Ann Arbor man was intoxicated. He admitted to troopers that he was aware he struck a patrol car but decided to keep driving.
Dozens of shots fired in Monroe neighborhood targeting car, 2 homes
MONROE, Mich. โ A vehicle parked on the driveway of a home in the 500 block of Conant Street in Monroe was shot at 15 times Friday around 10 p.m. while two separate homes in the area were also struck with gunfire, police say. When police arrived to the area after complaints about gunfire were made they found over 25 spent shell casings from different guns. As of Saturday there were no reports of injured victims, police say. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monroe Police Department Detective Bureau.
Ice fisherman drowns in Lake Michigan in Upper Peninsula
GARDEN, Mich. โ A 64-year-old man drowned in a Lake Michigan bay when his off-road vehicle hit open water, authorities said. Edward Lester of Garden was at Big Bay De Noc, off Delta County, for ice fishing Thursday. Ice in the area was 4 to 5 inches thick but "recent high winds caused the crack to open,โ said Lt. Eugene โSkipโ Hagy of the Department of Natural Resources. Pressure cracks are very hazardous and can occur very fast, particularly on large bodies of water,โ Hagy said. Authorities were contacted when Lesterโs wife said he had not returned from a routine fishing trip.

The vehicle had seven people inside ranging in age between 17 to 19. โThe forward momentum was stopped after striking another embankment where the vehicle rolled over,โ a statement from MSP on the crash read. MSP added that speeding was a contributing factor to the crash which is still being investigated.

State police said the Warren Police Department contacted the agency, revealing the vehicle was involved in an incident in the city. State police said when the trooper checked the vehicle, he observed several bullet holes in the car. โA check of local hospitals and police departments did not reveal a victim or incident,โ MSP officials said.
Child trapped underneath vehicle after serious Brownstown Township crash
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ On Friday, a child involved in a serious crash that happened around 3 a.m. on I-75 and Sibley Road in Brownstown Township was injured. Police say the child was trapped underneath a vehicle after the crash. According to police, a pickup truck struck a minivan which led to the rear hatch opening. The child was laying across the rear bench seat of the minivan and ejected from the vehicle. Police say the child was hospitalized with minor injuries.
2 dead after vehicle submerges in Terry Lake in Pontiac
PONTIAC, Mich. โ Police are investigating a vehicle submerged Tuesday night in Terry Lake in Pontiac. Family members at the scene said the driver may have had a medical condition that caused the vehicle to crash into the lake. โUpon arrival, the vehicle was already fully submerged. Shelby Township police search for driver captured on video hitting another vehicle, taking off
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Police are looking for a driver in a hit-and run involving another vehicle in Shelby Township. The incident happened Wednesday in the area of Jeffry and Justine streets. State police find vehicle wanted in fatal hit-and-run of I-94 construction worker

CLAIR SHORES, Mich. โ A vehicle sought in connection with the deadly hit-and-run of a construction worker Monday along I-94 in St. Clair Shores has been found, Michigan State Police announced Wednesday morning. Zach Morisette, 26, was killed when a vehicle struck him about 3 p.m. Monday. He was working with a Macomb County Department of Roads crew putting down a patch to fix a broken manhole cover. Police had been searching for the vehicle and driver and while they have located the vehicle, the driver remains at large. Woman in critical condition after being struck by 2 vehicles in Detroit, police say
DETROIT โ Police are asking for help identifying and locating two vehicles involved in a hit-and-run incident that happened on Detroitโs east side. A 26-year-old woman was walking in the middle of Harper Avenue on Sept. 11 at 11:40 p.m. when she was struck by a Jeep that was traveling west, according to police. After being hit, a dark colored minivan that was traveling east struck her too. Medics transported the woman to a hospital where she is listed in critical condition. Police are looking for an unknown driver who was in the dark colored Jeep and an unknown driver who was in the dark colored minivan.
2 people shot near Schoolcraft, Burt Road in Detroit
DETROIT The Detroit Police Department is investigating a shooting Wednesday night near Schoolcraft and Burt Road that left two people in serious and critical condition. Detroit police said a preliminary investigation determined the 28-year-old male driver and 25-year-old female passenger stopped at a stoplight at about 8 p.m. on Schoolcraft and Burt Road when a white Sudan pulled beside the vehicle. An unknown suspect inside the Sudan fired shots at the two victims before taking off. The male victim was listed in critical condition and the female victim was listed in temporary serious condition. Michigan drivers face new insurance choice starting Thursday
LANSING, Mich. Michigan drivers who renew or buy car insurance face a choice starting Thursday: stick with unlimited medical coverage, go with less or -- for seniors with Medicare -- opt out entirely. Such lawsuits are expected to rise since fewer people will have unlimited medical. Fox said concerns that higher bodily injury coverage would completely negate PIP savings have not been borne out. Someone with unlimited medical and the default bodily injury coverage, for example, will still save about 10%, according to state data. The state said calls to its auto insurance hotline are up tenfold from May.
Vehicle slams into Westland house; driver flees on foot
WESTLAND, Mich. โ A vehicle slammed into a house Tuesday morning near Henry Ruff Road and Avondale Street in Westland. More: Westland NewsThe homeowner said he was on his couch watching TV when he heard the tires. He said no one inside the home was hurt. The driver, however, was covered in blood and offered to give him money so he wouldnโt call police, the homeowner said. The driver then fled the area on foot.
