Dollar General store destroyed by fire along Telegraph in Brownstown Township
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Fire crews were battling a fire Thursday morning at the Dollar General store on Telegraph Road near Sibley Road in Brownstown Township. A fire burns at a Dollar General store on Feb. 25, 2021 in Brownstown Township. Fire officials said there actually was a fire at this same Dollar General store two years ago. โIn this case, the McDonalds was closed and this fire probably got going a little further before somebody noticed it. Thatโs why weโve got more of an issue than we had before.โAdThe store was destroyed.
Police rescue mom, 4-year-old son stuck inside Brownstown car wash
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Rebecca Hodge said it was a normal trip to the Brownstown Automatic Car Wash on Telegraph Road. โIโve used this car wash before,โ Hodge said. Hodge said thatโs when a part of the car wash machine allegedly slammed into her car. โWe donโt often get calls to rescue people from car wash,โ Watson said. Rebecca Hodge wanted to thank the two officers who helped her, Officers Camille Glidden and Erik Mott.

Child trapped underneath vehicle after serious Brownstown Township crash
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ On Friday, a child involved in a serious crash that happened around 3 a.m. on I-75 and Sibley Road in Brownstown Township was injured. Police say the child was trapped underneath a vehicle after the crash. According to police, a pickup truck struck a minivan which led to the rear hatch opening. The child was laying across the rear bench seat of the minivan and ejected from the vehicle. Police say the child was hospitalized with minor injuries.

More than 50 Woodhaven High School students in quarantine after 3 test positive for COVID
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A possible COVID-19 outbreak at Woodhaven High School in Brownstown has put 51 students and one staff member in quarantine. The Woodhaven-Brownstown School District confirmed 3 students tested positive for COVID-19. On Saturday, the state of Michigan reported an increase of 3,338 new COVID-19 cases since Friday -- the highest one-day total reported since the coronavirus pandemic struck earlier this year. Wayne County to hold annual equipment auction Saturday
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ The Wayne County Department of Public Services' Equipment Auction takes place Saturday at 10 a.m. The auction will held at Greater Detroit Auto Auction, located on King Road in Brownstown Township. The auction allows the County to sell equipment and vehicles it no longer needs and provide the proceeds to the department listing the item for auction. Severe thunderstorm warning expires in Wayne County
WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. โ A severe thunderstorm warning issued for Wayne County expired at 4 p.m. Monday. The National Weather Service announced the warning around 2:55 p.m.VIEW: Live weather radarMetro Detroit is under a marginal risk for severe weather on Monday afternoon. Weather officials said a severe thunderstorm was located at 2:54 p.m. over Belleville. Storms were expected to bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph. Body of missing 86-year-old Trenton woman found at Riverview landfill
RIVERVIEW, Mich. โ Police announced Sunday night that the body of 86-year-old Irene Kin was found with her 2002 Ford Taurus in a remote area of the Riverview Landfill Preserve in Brownstown Township. ORIGINAL STORY: Missing 86-year-old Trenton woman considered endangered, police sayKin was last seen in the 2300 block of Pinetree Drive in Trenton, according to authorities. The scene is being investigated by the Michigan State Police, the Brownstown Township Police Department and officers from Riverview police. The City of Riverview is committed to operating Riverview Land Preserve with the highest safety standards. During non-operating hours, site access is restricted by natural barriers and fences, and the 403-acre land preserve is monitored by security personnel."
Man stabbed about 20 times inside Brownstown Township home, father says
BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A man was stabbed multiple times inside a mobile home in Brownstown Township. The victimโs father said Tuesday morning that his son, who is in his mid 20s, was stabbed about 20 times. He said his son was in an argument with another person inside the mobile home in the 25800 block of Bristol Drive when a fight broke out, leading to the stabbing. UPDATE: Man stabs coworker 20 times unprovoked, runs into woods to strip nakedThe victim lives in the home with his mother and a sibling. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to a hospital where he is in critical condition but is expected to survive this attack.
