The Oakland County Sheriff's detectives from the Pontiac Division have arrested two men who were involved in the Jan. 14 shooting, which claimed the life of 27-year-old J'Son Markell Hunt and left another man in critical condition.

Man arrested on unrelated warrants accused of involvement with fatal Pontiac shooting
PONTIAC, Mich. โ A 30-year-old man taken into custody on an unrelated warrant is accused of being involved in a fatal shooting at a Metro Detroit Coney Island restaurant. According to authorities, just before 10 a.m. Jan. 13, Oakland County Sheriffโs deputies were dispatched to DโAntonโs Coney Island, located on West Huron Street, between Telegraph Road and Woodward Avenue, on reports of a dead body. Original Story: 26-year-old man found dead in Pontiac coney island parking lot, deputies sayPolice said a friend of the dead man reported that he and the victimโs family were unable to find him, searched the area and found his body in a vehicle near the Coney Island restaurant. According to the Oakland County Sheriffโs Office, Bryan Maurice Wilson AKA: Anthony Randolph Wilson, was connected with the shooting. He was taken into police custody on unrelated warrants and remains at the Oakland County Jail.

Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Parkdale Avenue in Pontiac on Sept. 28 on the report of a 10-month-old child who was conscious and not breathing. Deputies arrived and so did crews from the Waterford Regional Fire Department and CPR was started on the child. Two firefighters put the child in the back seat of a patrol car and continued to perform CPR while a deputy drove them to the hospital. Other deputies worked to clear a path for the patrol car to get to the hospital as safely and as quick as possible.
17-year-old arrested in Livingston County on suspicion of drug-related fatal shooting
PONTIAC, Mich. โ Officials with the Livingston County and Oakland County Sheriff officers attested a 17-year-old boy Saturday at his home in Genoa Township, between Brighton and Howell, in connection with an 18-year-old man shot to death in Pontiac. The manโs body was found on a sidewalk in the 100 block of Thorpe Street just before 8:30 p.m. Friday. According to authorities, the 17-year-old was a passenger in the car who fired one shot from a handgun, striking the victim in the head. The 19-year-old driver and a 17-year-old girl, residents of Brighton, were taken to the Pontiac Substation for questioning and were released pending further investigation. Charges and arraignment are not expected until late Monday or early Tuesday after a review by the Oakland County Prosecutorโs Office.
Oakland County deputies seeking 2 people in stealing wallet from 77-year-old woman in Rochester Hills
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. โ Oakland County Sheriffโs deputies are searching for two people they said stole a wallet out of a 77-year-old womanโs purse in Rochester Hills. Deputies said the two individuals worked together to cause a distraction at a large retail store before taking the wallet. Deputies said the individuals then proceeded to drive to a nearby store and used the credit cards from the wallet. One individual is described by deputies as a White man wearing a red sweater and blue jeans, a mask covering his face and spoke with an accent. The other individual is described as a White man wearing an orange and black shirt with blue jeans and a mask covering his face.
Police: Man throws 40-pound sandbags off I-96 overpass in Oakland County, strikes vehicle
LYON TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Michigan State Police say a man throwing 40-pound sandbags off an overpass on I-96 in Lyon Township hit a vehicle and injured a woman late Sunday night. State police were called to a scene by Oakland County Sheriffโs deputies for a traffic investigation at around 11 p.m. Sunday on I-96 near Old Plank Road. Michigan State Police said their preliminary investigation found that a male suspect was involved in a single vehicle crash with his truck on I-96 near Old Plank Road. WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. A Waterford Township man has been charged after impersonating a police officer in Oakland County. Charles Molina, 22, was arrested after an Oakland County Sheriffs Deputy encountered the man and his vehicle equipped to impersonate a police vehicle on Tuesday. DETROIT The Oakland County Sheriff announced charges relating to an incident Wednesday where a woman pulled a gun in an Orion Township parking lot. The newly released unemployment numbers show that more than 4.8 million people either went back to their existing jobs or found a new one. After some encouraging initial results, researchers remain cautiously optimistic that a safe and effectively vaccine can be made. A Red Robin restaurant in Clinton Township closed after two employees tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Red Robin on Hall Road east of Hayes Road shut down Sunday and spent the last several days closed for cleaning.
Oakland County sheriff: Follow both COVID-19 and traditional safety rules this holiday weekend
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. Metro Detroiters are eager to have some fun over the Fourth of July weekend, and the Oakland County sheriff wants to remind everyone to follow traditional safety rules as well as those surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Many people will enjoy the beautiful Fourth of July weather this weekend, but Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said remember to use your head and make sure the holiday doesnt go from a good time to a tragedy. Bouchard said sometimes tragedies are simply from negligence, so be sure to check your boat to make sure everything is in order. When you drink a lot and in the sun, youre less capable of responding, Bouchard said. Remember that because of the pandemic, there arent as many drivers available, so having designated driver lined up beforehand is a smart choice.
Lawsuit claims manโs death in Oakland County Jail was avoidable
PONTIAC, Mich. โ New video footage from inside the Oakland County Jail captured disturbing footage of a man in distress before he died. Video from the traffic stop captured deputies looking in Terrance Vaughnโs mouth before taking him to the Oakland County Jail. The family filed a civil rights lawsuit against the deputies, the jail staff and Oakland County based on what happened next. โIt spoke volumes that there wasnโt a lot of care there for his life,โ Jada Vaughn said. Oakland County officials said they will fight the lawsuit in court.

Pontiac man charged with homicide after confessing to shooting girlfriend
PONTIAC, Mich. โ A 46-year-old man from Pontiac was charged with homicide on Saturday after confessing to shooting his girlfriend on Friday. Police said Roderick Junior Washington called authorities on Friday and said that he killed his girlfriend. An autopsy revealed the victim, a woman from Pontiac, died from a gunshot wound to the head, officials said. Police say Roderick confessed to shooting his girlfriend twice after a brief altercation in her vehicle. Police say Washington has prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance, malicious destruction of property over $1,000, receiving and concealing stolen property and breaking and entering.
Inmate dies from suicide at Oakland County Jail
PONTIAC, Mich. โ An inmate at the Oakland County Jail was found unresponsive by deputies after strangling himself in his cell on Saturday afternoon. Upon noticing the inmate was unresponsive, deputies entered the cell and discovered a blanket attached to the manโs feet and tied around his neck as a ligature, police said. Officials say the deputies conducted CPR and used an automated external defibrillator on the inmate and were able to obtain a pulse. The inmate was then transported to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland hospital where he was placed on life support and listed in critical condition, officials said. The case is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriffโs Office Special Investigations Unit.
Rochester teacher sentenced to at least 4 years in prison for sex with students
ROCHESTER, Mich. โ A Rochester teacher charged with having sex with two of her high school students, and giving one of those students drugs, has been sentenced to at least 4 years (51 months) in prison. Kathryn Houghtaling, 26 at the time, was charged in Jan. 2019 with six counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second-degree. Houghtaling was a first-year teacher who taught special education at Rochester High School. The maximum sentence for the crimes is 15 years in prison, but it was not expected that she would be sentenced to serve above the minimum 51 months in prison. Sources say Houghtaling had sex with the boys at an apartment and one time in a car, while other students watched.

The host of the ceremony and creator of the memorial is the Fallen Heroes Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit foundation dedicating to honoring fallen soldiers, according to a release from the organization. Civil Air Patrol cadets will "post the colors" at the ceremony, according to the release. Military officers, both former and current, are encouraged to wear their uniforms to the ceremony.

Woman charged in Rochester Hills face-biting attack held on $75K bond
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - Allison Weaver is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm after a bizarre attack in Rochester Hills that has a woman hospitalized with serious injuries. Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday to the Lake Village Apartments in the 2300 block of Norfolk Drive in Rochester Hills. When that woman fell asleep, Weaver was over her and had bitten the woman's ear off, and had bitten the woman all over her face, according to sheriff's deputies. Weaver, 44, is being held on a $75,000 bond and will have to wear that GPS tether if released. The Lake Village Apartments in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Three shot including 16-year-old in Pontiac
PONTIAC, Mich. - A 20-year-old has been killed and two others injured in a shooting in Pontiac. It happened late Wednesday night at a home on Lydia near Samburu. Along with the 20-year-old man killed, a 21-year-old and 16-year-old were injured. At least one person has been detained by the Oakland County Sheriff's department. Details released about seaplane crash north of West Bloomfield in Upper Straits Lake
An investigation revealed that the pilot had tried to land the seaplane on the lake. The pilot miscalculated and struck three pontoon boats and then struck then a sand bar. (WDIV)WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Oakland County Sheriff's office released more details about a seaplane crash north of West Bloomfield Township that happened this past weekend, and left several people with minor injuries. An investigation revealed that the pilot had tried to land the seaplane on the lake. The plane was removed from the lake by Byers Towing and transported to the Sheriffs Office Marine Division Boat Yard.
Oakland County Sheriff: Missing 79-year-old woman found in Warren
PONTIAC, Mich. - Police have found a woman with dementia who was missing Wednesday night. Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were sent to the 60 block of Chippewa Road in Pontiac on Wednesday afternoon. The missing woman's son reported her missing and said that she lives with him and he last saw her Tuesday night in her bedroom. When he went to check on her at noon Wednesday, he discovered she was missing. Her son said she has tried to walk to Warren in the past.
