Three unknown vehicles allegedly drove past the familys vehicle while in the 8300 block of Homer Street in Detroit. We believe the darker color SUV is the one that fired shots into the vehicle.Police initially reported that only a 39-year-old woman was killed in the shooting. Officials say individuals under 25 without the positive review requirement can book any type of listing outside of their local area. All guests of all ages are allowed to book private rooms and hotel rooms in any location through Airbnb, officials said. The age restriction is an effort to prevent โunauthorized partiesโ from occurring at Airbnb-listed homes, especially ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. In late 2019 a mass shooting occurred during a party at an Airbnb listing and the company has since announced steps to prevent a similar event from taking place. In East Lansing 138 COVID-19 cases have been tied to an outbreak at Harpers Restaurant and Brew Pub as of Wednesday.

DETROIT โ Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in the murder of Lamonte Jacobs. Jacobs was fatally shot at a 4th of July block party in 2016. It happened in the 5300 block of Cooper Street between Barker and Moffat Avenue on Detroitโs east side. Family members said Dion Bridges was just sitting outside at a table when someone started firing gunshots. Especially since her 21-year old grandson was shot and killed. Police said someone shot Dion Bridges while he was sitting outside with his friends. They ripped my son from his family, his mother said.
Portland shelters, animal hospital busy after the Fourth
CNN image(KPTV) - PORTLAND, Oregon -- Its a busy couple days for animal shelters and hospitals, as they care for more sick and stray pets from the Fourth of July. This Fourth of July they cared for 87 animals Thursday alone, compared to their 61 patients on an average day. We checked in with shelters in the area who also had quite a few lost pets. And Multnomah County Animal Services took in 21. As for this weekend, Multnomah County Animal Services will be waiving impound and board fees through Sunday as long as the pet is picked up by Tuesday.
Man arrested for pretending to be officer, pulling over deputy
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - A Hillsborough County, Florida deputy sheriff arrested a 35-year-old man on Fourth of July after being accused of pretending to be a law enforcement officer. Hastings told him "he was a law enforcement officer and his credentials were at the office." He told the deputy he could follow him back to the "station" so he could obtain and show him his credentials. Shortly after exiting on Branch Forbes, Hastings was stopped by a Hillsborough County deputy, where he was detained while they interviewed the off-duty deputy. No handcuffs or firearms were located in the vehicle," the Sheriff's Office said.

(WDIV)DETROIT - Two drivers fled the scene of a three-car crash that left a 12-year-old boy critically injured, according to Detroit police. A 2004 tan Marquis rear-ended a white SUV, according to authorities. A black 2018 Buick Regal was also involved in the crash, officials said. The white SUV also fled the scene, according to officials. The father of the 12-year-old was not injured in the crash, according to authorities.
World War II veteran crosses country on foot for second time
Over the course of two years and 10 months, over 2,631 miles, he crossed the country on foot, running from California to Georgia. At age 95, the World War II veteran has decided to do it again. He's clocked 175 miles into his second coast-to-coast trek, which he began in March when he left from Georgia's St. Simons Island. He hopes to run 13 miles a week through grueling heat or freezing cold for as long as he can. As he runs, the Navy veteran is raising funds to sail a restored World War II tanker to Normandy for a D-Day anniversary, a feat that he says will cost millions.

So Brevard County designed a program to comfort the dogs as well as "help add purpose to the lives of inmates incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail." A 2007 study found that prisoners who participated in an animal program learned important values including patience and helping others.
