ROMULUS, MI -- A man is dead after he crashed into a retention pond early Thursday morning at the at CSX Railyard on Pennsylvania Road near I-275. According to Fox 2 Detroit, several people were involved in attempting to steal six cars from the railyard with three of the car having already been recovered. It’s unclear how the man crashed into the pond, but CSX Police believe the man lost control of the vehicle before crashing into the pond. Police say the brand new cars are typically parked in the railyard before they are shipped to dealers. CSX Police are investigating the incident.

A white Ford F-150 was spotted traveling northbound in the southbound lanes at more than 80 mph, reported Alexis Powell, dispatcher for Huron Township. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Henry Ford-Brownstown Medical Center before being lodged in the Huron Township jail facility.
