Detroit radio personality Angie Starr encourages voting through music
โSolutions Not Slogansโ hosted by radio personality Angie Starr of 105.9 KISS FM answered Detroit voters' questions about this yearโs election. โThis election is so important and I want everybody that can vote to vote! And in true radio fashion, sheโs helping to get that message out through music. The way your vote matters, why your vote is important and why you need to know everyone that is on the ballot. Itโs all wrapped up into this one video,โ Starr explained.
Biden risks alienating young Black voters after race remarks
WASHINGTON Joe Biden's controversial remarks about race this week risk alienating young Black voters who despise President Donald Trump but are not inspired by his Democratic rival. But that success was heavily dependent on older Black voters. And while Biden was strongly supported by African American voters overall, Black voters under age 30 were slightly more likely to support Sanders than Biden, 44% to 38%. A Washington Post-Ipsos poll conducted in June suggested that while Biden had majority support among Black voters aged 18-39, there was skepticism about Biden himself. What I'm seeing and what Im hearing among young black voters is that Biden was not their first choice, so folks are not excited to vote for him this November, she said.
