Mom charged with manslaughter after daughter, 8 was fatally shot when she wasn’t home
DETROIT -- The mother of an 8-year-old girl who was shot and killed this week has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and child abuse. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy brought charges against 31-year-old Erica Graham Thursday in connection with the death on Graham’s 8-year-old daughter. The girl died Tuesday after she was shot in the neck by a 10-year-old who allegedly found an unsecured gun in their home in the 8800 block of Heyden Street. The girl was walking to a deli when the man stopped and approached her on Harbor Road and Forest Avenue in Mariners Harbor sometime in the afternoon, cops said. The girl was in the truck for about a mile before she was able to break free near Richmond Terrace and Union Avenue around 4:40 p.m., police said. JENISON, MI -- A 16-year-old girl Hudsonville girl died in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the Jenison area, police said. The crash happened just after 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 on Bauer Road east of 40th Avenue. Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene on a report of a vehicle that had rolled over several times. Gyasi Arnez Stribling, the victim’s 20-year-old brother, is now facing charges. He’s accused of shooting Bailei Singleton at the 12 North Apartments on 12 Mile Road, between Northwestern Highway and Telegraph Road. The girl had been in critical condition at a hospital after being shot in her head. Police said he allegedly fabricated a story and said Bailei had been shot during an attempted robbery.

DETROIT – A 7-year-old girl who was shot by a drive-by shooter inside her Detroit home Wednesday night has died. Reginae Williams was reportedly shot while sitting on the couch and watching TV in her home at 3999 Bedford Street, near Outer Drive and Mack Avenue, at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday. An unknown suspect drove by and fired numerous shots into the home, striking the girl in the back of the head, police said. The suspect reportedly circled the area prior to the shooting. Detroit police shared a video of the wanted vehicle, though it is difficult to see due to the image quality.

LANSING, Mich. – A 3-year-old girl needed surgery and is in “good condition” after being shot at a Zap Zone in Lansing, officials said. Eaton County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the Zap Zone at 936 Mall Drive East in Delta Township on Tuesday for a report of shots being fired. Deputies were able to secure the scene and provide first aid to the girl who had been shot. Paramedics arrived and transported the girl to Sparrow Hospital for treatment. Police said as of Wednesday, the girl is out of surgery and in good condition.
