Man shot at after side-swiping vehicle blocking Michigan freeway, police say
DETROIT โ A man was shot at early Tuesday after he side-swiped a vehicle blocking a freeway in Detroit, officials said. Around 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, Michigan State Police were called to a crash that involved shots fired on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit, according to a news release from MSP. The victim side-swiped the Chrysler, hitting the open driverโs door. The victim pulled over and got out to check on the people in the Chrysler and an altercation ensued, police said. The victim heard two shots as he fled to his vehicle, police said.

DETROIT -- Troopers with the Michigan State Police arrested a man Tuesday night and transported him to a local hospital for mental health care after he was found walking along the Lodge Freeway. MSP says troopers were contacted around 6:35 p.m. for several reports of a man walking in the middle of the freeway. When officers arrived on scene, they found the man walking in the right lane making obscene gestures at traffic as it passed by. While speaking with his brother, the suspect smashed his head into the front passenger window of the patrol car multiple times, causing the window to break. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment after hitting his head on the window and police once again petitioned him for mental health care.

2 killed on Lodge Freeway after being hit by car while waiting to clear prior crash
DETROIT -- Two people were killed Sunday night following a pair of crashes on the Lodge Freeway near Chicago Boulevard. Police determined that two cars that were heading southbound were involved in an accident that left one car blocking the left lane of the freeway and the other car was on the right shoulder. The two occupants of the car in the left lane exited their vehicle and were standing by it when a third car slammed into the car and the two people, killing them instantly. The occupants of the vehicle in the left lane exited and were standing by their vehicle on the freeway. The driver of a passenger vehicle was southbound in the left lane and struck the previous vehicle and both of the passengers from the previous crash.

(CBS DETROIT) After a recent video went viral on social media Saturday night of cars blocking the northbound lanes of the Lodge Freeway to allegedly do donuts in the roadway, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the department made an arrest. The Detroit Police Department addressed media Monday about the weekend incident. Around 11 p.m. Michigan State Police Lieutenant Mike Shaw said the department started getting calls about parts of the freeway being blocked. Shaw said an officer was southbound on the freeway and as soon as the drivers saw the police lights, the drivers took off. Police asked residents to always call 911 first and then report on social media.
