DETROIT – Police have recovered a 7-year-old child who was in a vehicle during a carjacking in Detroit. The carjacking happened Wednesday evening near I-75 and Warren Avenue, police said. Mother accidentally shoots 1-year-old during dispute with neighbor in Detroit
DETROIT – Police said a 20-month-old child was injured in a shooting Monday night in the 4200 block of Tyler Street. The child’s mother was arrested. Detroit police said that at about 7:46 p.m., the mother was allegedly in a dispute with a neighbor over a food delivery mix-up. The neighbor allegedly pulled out a hammer, and the mother -- a CPL holder -- pulled out a gun and fired shots. You can watch the report in the video posted above.
State: 2-month-old child dies from COVID-19 in Michigan
A 2-month-old Michigan child has reportedly died from coronavirus (COVID-19). Officials from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) said Wednesday that the child is the youngest person they know of to die from the virus. MDHHS says the state is “fortunate enough to have had only one death of a child under age 1” due to COVID-19. If the death is more than 30 days from onset, the certifying physician identifies COVID-19 as a contributing factor to death. MDHHS relies on the judgment of treating physicians in determining whether a death is associated with COVID-19."

Monroe woman arrested in connection with death of abused Florida baby
MONROE, Mich. The Michigan State Police Fugitive Team arrested a Monroe woman wanted by Florida authorities for criminal neglect of a child causing great bodily harm, failure to report aggravated abuse, and culpable negligence expose injury. These charges stem from an incident that occurred in Ormond Beach, Florida, on June 12, 2019. The female arrested in Monroe on Wednesday is the mother of the child and was working during this incident. MSP fugitive team members were accompanied by two Florida detectives when the female was arrested without incident at her job in Monroe. First responders in Florida stated that the residence was in unlivable conditions due to filth, urine, and dog feces throughout the home.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Police in Farmington Hills are working to track down a person who is suspected of following a child home Monday evening in the area of Willow Lane and List Street. Police said a report was made about a “suspicious person” who followed the child home about 4:30 p.m. The child got off of a bus and was followed home from the bus stop by the unknown person on foot, according to the police report.
