SAGINAW, MI โ€” A 19-year-old man died in a fatal car crash here after he fled law enforcers during a traffic stop Tuesday, Dec. 20, state police said. The traffic stop was initiated related to a drug investigation, she said. The driver sped away and troopers pursued until the chase ended when the Dodge Charger crashed into a tree and utility pole on Perkins near Fourth Street at about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, Vetter said. Off-duty Detroit cop suspended, fled police after crash involving stolen car from Ohio

DETROIT -- An officer with the Detroit Police Department was suspended this week after he was arrested early Sunday morning by members of the same department. The officer was riding as the passenger in a Dodge Charger early Sunday morning that was seen speeding by police. After arresting the man, police learned he was a fellow officer and that the car he was riding in was stolen out of Ohio. The car was reported stolen โ€œseveral months prior,โ€ but had been retagged using a different vehicle identification number. The officer was initially suspended with pay following his arrest, but Chief James White is petitioning the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners to have the suspended officerโ€™s wages withheld.

Man fatally shot by police after firing at undercover officers during street racing

DETROIT โ€“ A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting at an illegal street racing event in Detroit late Sunday night, FOX 2 Detroit reports. The man, whose identity has not been released, was a passenger in a stolen blue Dodge Charger that was doing in donuts where several hundred people were gathered on the cityโ€™s east side for illegal street racing and drifting, the TV station reports. Undercover officers were at the scene in an unmarked police vehicle doing surveillance. The Charger crashed into their unmarked police vehicle, the report said. The man then allegedly got out with a firearm in hand and fired three to four shots at the undercover officers before he was fatally shot by one of the officers.

The indictment said that Vasquez that day passed $1,000 in counterfeit $50 bills to buy $970.98 in merchandise at the Meijer store in Walker. Two days later, he allegedly passed $1,300 in counterfeit bills to buy $1,272.78 in merchandise at the Home Depot in Kentwood, the indictment said. On Jan. 9, Vasquez passed $1,300 in counterfeit $50 bills at the Home Depot in Walker before his co-defendants tried to return most of the merchandise for a refund, the indictment.

Dash cam footage captured by a trooper with the Michigan State Police and a private citizen shows the moments just before a stolen Dodge Charger crashed into an SUV and a garbage truck Tuesday afternoon. 20-year-old man charged in crash that killed 9-year-old boy on ATV

DETROIT -- A 20-year-old Roseville man has been charged in connection with the death of a 9-year-old boy who was killed Saturday after being hit by a car while riding his ATV. According to the Associated Press, Daveon Hardiman was charged Monday with one count of reckless driving causing death. Hardiman was allegedly behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger that was traveling the wrong way down a one-way street at a high rate of speed when he hit Maiโ€™Juan Calderin. Witnesses reported seeing Hardiman driving the car and allegedly attempting to flee the scene after hitting Calderin, but other drivers blocked his car in until police arrived. Bond was set at $50,000 and Hardiman is expected back in court on March 31.

DETROIT โ€“ Michigan State Police released footage of a Friday night police pursuit through the streets of Detroit. According to authorities, two people pointed weapons at a Detroit police officers and drove off in a Dodge Charger. Police said the pursuit began just after 10:30 p.m near the intersection of Evergreen Road and I-96. The pursuit ended when the Charger ran a stop sign near the intersection of Kentfield Street and I-96 and struck a DPD cruiser. DETROIT โ€“ Witnesses reported two vehicles exchanging gunfire while speeding down I-96 about 10 p.m. Monday. One of them was struck by another vehicle on I-96 while trying to flee the scene of the crash on foot. The vehicles -- a Dodge Charger and a Dodge SUV -- eventually crashed along the westbound I-96 express lanes near Schaefer Highway. The third victim was in the other vehicle involved in the shooting. Chicago man charged with reckless homicide after two die in Aurora crash

It took them 3 minutes, to get the sunroof open. He said the thieves took his car on a joy ride and crashed it.

Fleeing driver crashes Dodge Charger into wall on I-196 entrance ramp

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI โ€“ A driver fleeing police late Tuesday, Sept. 30, crashed a Dodge Charger on the Baldwin Street entrance ramp to eastbound I-196. After a brief pursuit, the driver crashed into a cement wall on the Baldwin Street entrance ramp to the expressway. The Charger came to a stop partially blocking the right lane of eastbound I-196, police said. The driver, who was not hurt, had multiple outstanding warrants and faces news charges for allegedly fleeing police. Officers initiated a traffic stop and when an officer stepped out of the vehicle to approach the Charger, the suspect vehicle allegedly pinned the officer against the police cruiser. WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. A Waterford Township man has been charged after impersonating a police officer in Oakland County. Charles Molina, 22, was arrested after an Oakland County Sheriffs Deputy encountered the man and his vehicle equipped to impersonate a police vehicle on Tuesday. 2 arrested in Somerset Mall carjacking

TROY, Mich. โ€“ Two people are in police custody after allegedly hijacking a vehicle outside of Somerset Mall on Thursday morning. Police say at about 7:30 a.m. two males were approached by four people in a silver Nissan when exiting the mall. Two suspects took the victimsโ€™ 2016 black Dodge Charger and fled the scene while the other two suspects fled the scene in the Nissan. A black 2016 Dodge Charger was hijacked from two people at Somerset Mall on the morning of July 23, 2020. The two suspects from Tennessee are being housed at the Jackson County Jail and are expected to be arraigned soon.

Detroit police seek to identify suspects in carjacking on cityโ€™s east side

DETROIT โ€“ Police are looking for three people wanted in connection to an carjacking early Sunday morning. According to authorities, it happened at about 3:30 a.m. at a gas station in the 11800 block of Conner Street. Police said a three people approached a 20-year-old man who was pumping gas and demanded his 2011 Dodge Charger at gunpoint. Police said one suspect entered the Dodge and drove south on Conner Street and the other two suspects followed in a 2017 silver Chevrolet Impala. One of the suspect entered the victimโ€™s vehicle and fled south on Conner with the remaining two suspects following in a silver 2017 Chevy Impala.

A gray 2017 Dodge Charger was traveling at a high speed on Pilgrim Street and collided with the victims, causing the Charger to flip over, officials said. The driver of the Charger fled the scene on foot heading east on Pilgrim Street. The man told deputies he was approached by the woman who told him she was not injured and then she left the scene. Deputies requested Huron Township Police contact the woman for a statement about the accident. The woman, 24, told police she was a passenger in the Charger and that a friend of hers drove the vehicle.

VIDEO: Thieves steal multiple cars from dealership on Detroit's west side

DETROIT - Police are looking for multiple suspects after several cars were stolen from a dealership in Detroit. According to authorities, Dymix Used Autos on Freeland Street, just south of West Chicago Street, had seven cars stolen from the dealership's garage. The thieves took a Dodge Charger and used it to pry their way inside the garage. He said once the thieves created a pathway, the vehiclers were taken in about 30 minutes. It's a huge financial loss for the dealership, but the business plans to stick around and increase security to make sure it doesn't happen again.

DETROIT - A young driver who sped off with a stolen Dodge Charger won't face any legal trouble after catching a major break from a Detroit auto dealer. Last week, a man came looking for a car, but it appears as though he had no intention of paying for a 2008 Charger. Surveillance video shows the man taking off. After a quick check of the surveillance video and talking, the owner and salesman recalled someone calling the same day and asking about the car. He was able to locate the Charger in the same condition it was in when it was stolen.
