Michigan parents working from home willing to pay hundreds for week away from family, survey says
So when realty service website ISoldMyHouse.com asked American parents what they would hypothetically pay for one week of rest and relaxation away from their family, Michigan’s average response was in the hundreds: $592, to be exact. On average, parents across the U.S. said they would be willing to pay $873 for a week away from their children and significant other. AdIn states like New Hampshire, Nevada and North Dakota, surveyed parents were willing to pay more than $1,000 to get away. Parents in West Virginia were willing to pay the most for a week of alone time, with the state’s responses averaging $2,448. University of Michigan awards staff three extra paid days off around holidays
ANN ARBOR – University of Michigan faculty and staff have something more to smile about this week. In an email to eligible faculty and staff on Wednesday, provost Susan Collins, chief financial officer Kevin Hegarty and associate vice president for human resources Richard Holcomb announced an additional three paid vacation days around the holidays. “This additional paid time off is one small way to recognize and express gratitude to our faculty and staff.”The additional days off are Nov. 25 and Dec. 23-24. Regular faculty and staff eligible for season days on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses will receive the additional time off. University Human Resources will work with unions to see if there are applicable season days that can be used for these bargaining units.
Airbnb requires hosts to commit to enhanced cleaning
Airbnb said Thursday it will require hosts to comply with enhanced cleaning procedures as part of its effort to reassure guests and local officials during the coronavirus pandemic. Hosts in China are exempt because have their own local cleaning program, the company said. Airbnb is no longer requiring hosts to leave their rentals vacant for at least 24 hours between guests, as it did in April. San Francisco-based Airbnb said nearly 1.5 million listings have signed on to the enhanced cleaning standards since they were introduced in June. The company has also been removing party houses from its platform after a shooting last year at an unauthorized Halloween party in California.
Travel agent takes research trip to Disney World amid coronavirus pandemic
Disney World has made major changes to make sure guests have a safe and enjoyable experience when they visit the parks. Nina Fabinksi, a travel agent with TMC Travel, books a lot of Disney vacations. I did not want to send someone in a situation that I didn’t 100% support and experience myself,” Fabinski said. Fabinski’s family traveled to Disney World in August and checked out all the parks during their stay: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom as well as Disney Springs. There is no parade, no fireworks and limited character breakfasts but Fabinski says Disney World is still delivering on the magic families expect.

Dr. Thomas also said that everyone should be wearing sunscreen regardless of skin tone. Most people wear sunscreen to prevent skin cancer but people of color should be wearing it to reduce wrinkles, skin texture changes, and discoloration. For children, Dr. Thomas suggests that if they are under 6 months then you should not apply sunscreen, just cover them up. When your child is 6 months they can start wearing sunscreen on the exposed areas only. The highest a childs sunscreen SPF should be is SPF 30.
