Tracking weekend snow, wintry mix in Metro Detroit -- hereโs what you need to know
The clouds have stuck around for most of the day, with some of us seeing a little light snow, but weโve got more winter weather moving into the region as we work throughout the overnight hours on Saturday and into the first half of our Sunday.
Metro Detroit weather: Cold temperatures before the return of spring
DETROIT โ Thereโs a lot to look forward to as spring arrives on Saturday, but our coldest numbers will happen before that milestone. Daytime highs will get above normal Wednesday, but hang right around seasonable levels Thursday and Friday. So as it looks right now, the rain is most likely in our South Zone, with lesser chances as you head north. It wonโt take much change the track of this system, so be ready for changes over the next 24 hours. Expect breezy conditions for our first spring weekend.
Detroit weather: Wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow moves in Monday evening
Snow ReturnsWeโre monitoring a mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow moving in from Northern Indiana. Expect the mix early, and primarily in the South Zone. Better chances of accumulation are in the North Zone, and northern part of the West Zone. Weโre on the northern edge of this system, so thereโs still a question as to how far north the rain gets. Right now, it looks likely south of 8 Mile, and possible north of there.
Live Michigan weather radar: Snow, wintry mix in forecast
DETROIT โ There is a chance for snow and a wintry mix Tuesday afternoon in southeastern Michigan. West Central Michigan is under a Winter Weather Advisory starting in the afternoon.
