Metro Detroit weather: Chance of scattered showers Wednesday night
After a few showers this morning that I certainly didnโt expect, it was back to full sunshine and very pleasant temperatures, as many of us once again got close to or above 70 degrees (21 degrees Celsius). However, as Iโve been telling you all week, donโt get used to it. The partyโs over.

While an isolated brief, light shower is possible before sunset -- best chance is north of M-59 -- most of us should be dry through the evening hours.

Metro Detroit weather: Still some light snow yet to go
Light snow and snow showers are gradually winding down, and mostly cloudy skies (meaning some of us may get occasional peeks of sun) will prevail during the daylight hours until scattered snow showers develop late afternoon into the evening. Snow showers diminish Friday night, with mostly cloudy skies hanging on. Highs, however, should reach the low 30s (0 degrees Celsius) -- another great day to play in the snow! Snow will develop -- thatโs a certainty -- but the big question is the thermal profile of the lower atmosphere. Of course, if something changes radically and we stay all snow, then the snow amounts will go up.

Take a moment to admire this satellite view of wintry Michigan
The National Weather Service shared another stunning view of wintry Michigan from satellite. Take a look at the beautiful satellite imagery of our great state this morning. You can see the snow covered ground for much of the state where the clouds are not obscuring the ground. From a consensus standpoint, the GFS, UKMET and GEM models all keep the storm far enough south to miss us completely. However, what makes me nervous is that the one model that hits us with a solid snowfall is that trusty ECMWF model.
