Metro Detroit weather: Weekend trouble heading our way
Good Friday morning and happy weekend! Thereโs never a dull moment in the Pure Michigan weather and itโs been an interesting week. Last weekend was very autumnal and then we spent the first half of the week tracking showers moving at us from the east instead of the west which is a little unusual. Here we are on the final workday of the week and itโs going to be a good one here around Metro Detroitย as we start with more of that comfy air in the upper 50s to low 60s for anyone heading out early. Skies are mostly clear other than some of that patchy fog in some of our rural suburbs so be on the lookout. Most of you will be trouble free walking to work or hitting the road.
Metro Detroit weather: Not as hot with showers within reach
Good Wednesday morning! Itโs starting to feel a little nicer out there after a cold front came through late Tuesday leaving Metro Detroit temperatures in the middle and upper 60s as you head out today. Conditions are mostly dry even though clouds are pouring in here with just a few very light rain showers here and there through the morning drive on this Hump Day. We will be on the fringe of showers and shower chances the next few days and today is no exception.
Metro Detroit weather: Peaceful Presidentsโ Day before more wet weather
After a sunny and windy Sunday, the winds have calmed down and more clouds are moving in to begin this Monday. Happy Presidentโs Day! Metro Detroit temperatures are in the lower and middle 30s and weโre in for a very pleasant temps for the next couple of days. The skies over Pure Michigan are becoming mostly cloudy, and it will stay that way most of the day. Morning lows are about 10 degrees above average, and we may see that pattern repeat as our afternoon highs will be warming leading to more melting.
Metro Detroit weather: Super chilly start with snow nearby
Temps are dropping consistently over Metro Detroit this Tuesday morning and thereโs still a bit of a breeze blowing keeping a few light snow showers and flurries in play early today. Our temps are in the upper teens to low 20s but the breeze makes it feel like single digits to low teens which means layer and bundle up and take a little time to warm up the car if you are so lucky. Some of that crazy snow from Monday and overnight may create some icy spots on the roads, especially on bridges, ramps, and overpasses. Be careful.

Michigan lawmakers unveil, start passing $62B state budget
LANSING, Mich. โ Michigan lawmakers Wednesday swiftly proposed and passed a $62.7 billion budget that will keep spending flat thanks to a federal rescue and avoid major cuts that had been feared due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the $17.6 billion education budget, which the Senate and House approved 36-1 and 103-2, K-12 will see a 1.4% funding boost. In the $45.1 billion general budget, the governor and lawmakers agreed to restore funding she had vetoed in March to save money due to the pandemic. Departments will trim a total of $250 million, largely through reductions in the multibillion-dollar Medicaid budget that will not directly affect services, said state spokesman Kurt Weiss. As part of the federal relief package, the state government received $3 billion in assistance.
Metro Detroit weather: Morning chill with summer heat later
Itโs not as cool out this morning, but itโs still a chill in the air as you head out to mostly upper 40s and low to mid 50s. So, just be careful in some of the rural spots around SE Lower Michigan this Wednesday morning. Yes, we will get a few clouds coming and going across our skies as we warm up but thatโs it. Any showers in Pure Michigan will hit Central and Northern Lower Michigan later Thursday.
