Southeast Michigan could see multiple rounds of thunderstorms from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon, with a few storms capable of becoming severe, according to the National Weather Service.

Metro Detroit will be heading into an unsettled stretch of weather next week. After a dry August and a mostly dry September so far, Southeast Michigan is in need of rain—and there is finally a break in sight.

The National Weather Service has preliminarily classified overnight storms from the Upper Plains to the Midwest as a derecho.
