Police: Taylor woman drove 92 mph in 70 mph zone, had gun in glove box
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. โ Police said a Taylor woman was caught driving 92 mph in a 70 mph zone and also admitted to having a gun in her glove box. Michigan State Police troopers stopped the 35-year-old womanโs car around 1:15 a.m. on eastbound I-94 in Macomb County because it was going 22 mph over the speed limit, they said. The Taylor woman admitted that she had a gun in the glove box and she did not have a CPL, according to authorities. Troopers said they found a 9 mm Smith & Wesson in the glove box. METRO NORTH POST ACTIVITY: On 3/22 at approximately 1:15 AM, troopers stopped a motorist on E/B I-94 in Macomb County for traveling 92 mph in a 70 zone.

DETROIT โ Police are looking for three men wanted in connection to a Jan. 28 armed robbery on Detroitโs west side. According to authorities, the robbery happened at a gas station near the intersection of Seven Mile Road and Wyoming Avenue. 4-year-old Detroit boy accidentally shoots himself after finding gun, police say
DETROIT โ A 4-year-old boy found a gun and accidentally shot himself, police said. The boy shot himself on Sunday at 11:22 p.m. in the 14400 block of Hubbell Avenue in Detroit. He was privately conveyed to an area hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said. Sen. Polehanki on firearms at Michigan Capitol: No one is safe until a complete ban
In Michigan, concealed and open carry firearms are allowed in the Capitol, but signs have been banned since 2012 after right-to-work protesters came to the Capitol. The Michigan State Capitol Commission, which is responsible for overseeing the Capitol and ultimately for making a decision on the future of firearms, has pushed back on accepting the responsibility and its leadership maintains its role should be limited. Sen. Dayna Polehanki (D-Livonia) has released the following statement in advance of the Michigan Capitol Commissionโs scheduled meeting Monday afternoon to discuss implementing a ban on the open carry of firearms in the Capitol Building:โLet me make this clear: The Capitol Commissionโs proposal to ban open carry from the peopleโs building does not ban bullets. Center Line police find gun on school grounds amid vandalism investigation
CENTER LINE, Mich. โ Police discovered a gun Saturday morning on school grounds in Center Line. The gun was found while police were investigating vandalism at the high schoolโs new track and softball fields. Parts of the outfield wall fence and some fence around the track had been destroyed Friday night. Police found the gun near Wolfe Middle School. Police have taken at least one person into custody.
Police investigating possible freeway shooting in Royal Oak
ROYAL OAK, Mich. โ Police are investigating a possible shooting that happened Friday at around 8:40 p.m. on eastbound I-696 near Campbell Road in Royal Oak. According to police, the driver of a vehicle with a passenger inside reported being in the area and shot at by someone in a light colored vehicle for no reason. No one was harmed in the vehicle that was reportedly targeted. In response to the situation I-696 from Woodward to Mohawk was closed down. The vehicle that was reportedly targeted is being processed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Teen accidentally drops gun, shoots himself in Detroit, police say
DETROIT โ A teenager reportedly dropped his gun on accident and shot himself in Detroit early Sunday morning, according to police. Detroit police say at about 2 a.m. in the 9000 block of Grandville Avenue, the 18-year-old boy reported that he accidentally dropped his gun, which then discharged and struck him. He was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition. Officials did not identify the location of the boyโs gunshot wound. Dearborn officer kills man while responding to assault on woman
DEARBORN, Mich. โ A man was killed by a 15 year veteran of the Dearborn Police Department on Sunday, according to the cityโs police chief Ronald Haddad. Police say that around 6:22 a.m. Sunday dispatch received a call from a 39-year-old Dearborn woman who stated she was being assaulted with a knife by her boyfriend. When police arrived witnesses told them the man was assaulting the victim with a knife. First aid was immediately provided to both the man and woman, police say. Michigan State Police are investigating the case while the Dearborn Police Department conducts an internal investigation.
15-year-old boy charged as juvenile in fatal shooting of 12-year-old in Oak Park
OAK PARK, Mich. โ A 15-year-old boy is being charged as a juvenile in connection with the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy Monday, Sept. 14 at a home in Oak Park. The Oakland County Prosecutorโs Office announced Tuesday the 15-year-old boy faces a manslaughter charge, as a juvenile. Police: 4 found dead after shooting in Ontario home
OSHAWA, ON Police say four people have been found dead in a home east of Toronto after an early morning shooting. A spokesman for Durham regional police says multiple calls came in around 1:20 a.m. reporting the sound of gunshots from a home in Oshawa, Ont. He says investigators believe the shooter is among the dead. Police say theyre not looking for any more suspects and there are no community safety concerns. Couple charged after guns drawn in Orion Township parking lot bound over for trial
ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A couple charged with felonious assault in connection with guns being drawn during an altercation in an Orion Township parking lot have been bound over for trial. Jillian Wuestenberg and Eric Wuestenberg were arrested and charged earlier this month. Jillian Wuestenberg said she thought she bumped into the door and not into a person. โI was at the sliding door of the van and she came out and proceeded to yell at me,โ Jillian Wuestenberg said. Attorneys for both parties said their clients were overwhelmed after the video went viral.
Couple charged with felonious assault after woman points gun at family outside Orion Township Chipotle
ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A couple is facing felonious assault charges after a White woman pulled a gun on a Black mother and her two daughters at an Orion Township Chipotle. Officials said the woman was leaving Chipotle with her food and the mother and her daughters were going in. It happened on Wednesday at about 6 p.m. in a quiet shopping area outside a Chipotle Mexican Grill on Baldwin Road. Oakland County Sheriffโs Deputies were there almost immediately after calls were placed to 911. According to the Oakland County Sheriffโs Office, the couple claimed to fear for their lives after their vehicle was struck with a hand by the other party.

DETROIT โ Someone opened fire on a semi truck Tuesday morning along the Southfield Freeway (M-39) near 7 Mile Road in Detroit. Michigan State Police said it happened about 6:20 a.m. on the northbound Southfield Freeway exit ramp to 7 Mile Road. A car pulled up alongside the semi truck and someone from inside the car fired multiple shots at the truck. The car was last seen traveling westbound on 7 Mile Road. Officer shoots at vehicle of Ferndale resident trying to flee police with narcotics
HAZEL PARK, Mich. โ The vehicle of a Ferndale resident trying to flee police Friday was shot at by an officer. The driver of the vehicle was alone when the Hazel Park officer approached her. Another female officer observed the vehicle pull into a residential driveway on Carlisle south of Woodward Heights. When the officer approached the vehicle from the back, the driver started reversing. A third officer arrived and followed the vehicle to W. Woodward Heights and N. Chrysler Service Drive.
Harper Woods woman charged with waving gun at another driver during road rage incident
TROY, Mich. โ A Harper Woods woman has been charged with waving a gun at another driver during a road rage incident in Oakland County, police said. Troy police were called at 6:11 p.m. Friday to southbound I-75 north of West Big Beaver Road. A driver told them he had been involved in a traffic altercation with the driver of a tan 2015 Kia Optima, officials said. At one point during the exchange, the woman flashed a gun at him out her window, according to authorities. Monea Smith, 30, of Harper Woods, had also contacted police about the altercation, officials said.
Man tries to escape MSP troopers, gets stuck in traffic on the Lodge Freeway
DETROIT โ Michigan State Police troopers found a loaded AR-15 in a manโs vehicle after he drove off from a traffic stop. It happened on the John C. Lodge Freeway, near Livernois Avenue, on Detroitโs west side Friday night. Police said they saw a man driving up a closed freeway ramp at about 11:30 p.m. and when they attempted to pull him over, the man drove back onto the Lodge. According to authorities, there was a low-speed chase that ended quickly when the man got stuck in traffic. A loaded AR-15 was found in the vehicleโs trunk.
