This should easily be a 6-to-8-inch snowfall, so total snow from what falls both Sunday night/Monday morning and Monday night/Tuesday morning could approach 10 inches in some areas. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 574,224 as of Saturday, including 15,150 deaths, state officials report. 13 businesses cited for violating Michiganโs COVID-19 order, state says
LANSING, Mich. โ Michigan health officials have issued citations to 13 businesses due to violations of the COVID-19 order put in place by the Department of Health and Human Services. โWe continue to see improvements in the numbers, and we know that the public health orders we have put in place are working. โThe number of cases, the positivity rate, and hospital capacity have declined in recent weeks, taking stress off our hospitals and health care workers,โ said Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, chief medical executive at MDHHS. โWe will continue to monitor the data and assess for any potential surges in cases after the holidays. Most food service establishments like restaurants and bars have helped play a critical role in the existing decline by following the order.โ

Liquor licenses, permits suspended for businesses in Lansing, Lapeer for Emergency Order violations
LANSING, Mich. โ Two Michigan businesses in Lansing and Lapeer have had their liquor licenses and permits suspended after they violated the stateโs recent public health order meant to slow the spread of coronavirus. READ: Michigan extends COVID-19 restrictions for 12 days to gauge Thanksgiving impactThe Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) issued the emergency suspensions of the liquor licenses and permits. The Commission issued an emergency suspension order of its Class C, and Specially Designated Merchant (SDM) liquor licenses, and permits for Sunday Sales (A.M. and P.M.) Entertainment, Outdoor Service, and Catering. Any licensed establishment that is in violation of the MDHHS emergency order will be held strictly accountable and risk suspension or revocation of its license. Since September 2020, the MLCC has suspended liquor licenses of an additional 10 establishments located throughout the state for violations of the emergency and executive orders due to the pandemic.

METRO DETROIT โ Strong winds Sunday brought down trees and caused mass power outages across Metro Detroit. MORE: Metro Detroit weather: Wind Advisory now in effectAs of 6:40 p.m. Sunday, more than 195,000 DTE customers are without power. The outages are spread across Metro Detroit with a large number near West Bloomfield. Ryan Stow, with DTE, said there have been about 1,000 downed power lines across Metro Detroit. DTE crews are assessing damage, and making repairs and restoring power, in areas where it is safe to do so.

26-year-old Michigan man killed in single vehicle rollover crash
MELVIN, Mich. โ A 26-year-old Melvin man was killed in a crash that happened before 5:30 a.m. today. Police say the crash took place near Lapeer and Wales Center roads in Wales Township. The victimโs 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling eastbound on Lapeer when it went off the road into a ditch and rolled several times ending up on its wheels, police say. As a result the victim was ejected from the vehicle. The crash is still under investigation.

DETROIT โ The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning Thursday for most of southeast Michigan from 4 a.m. until 9 a.m. Friday. The freeze warning has been issued for Genesee, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. Temperatures are expected to fall below 32 degrees. The NWS warns it could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and could damage unprotected plumbing.
