ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A 2-year project on Gratiot Avenue in Macomb County will begin Monday. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, more than three miles of Gratiot Avenue in Roseville will be rebuilt. Construction will focus on the stretch between 11 Mile and Common roads in 2021 and is expected to work between Common and 14 Mile roads in 2022. On the northbound side, the left lane will be closed from Frazho to Common roads and on the southbound side, the left lane will be closed from Common to 11 Mile roads. Police said a man, unknown age, sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound and is hospitalized, and a 21-year-old man sustained a grazing wound. Police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting. DETROIT – A 52-year-old pedestrian was killed Sunday when a collision caused one of the vehicles to strike him. Police said he was standing on the corner of Gratiot Avenue and Conner Street when two vehicles collided in the intersection at about 8:40 p.m. It is unknown which of the two vehicles struck the pedestrian on the corner.
