Man who died on I-94 was in earlier crash, moved children to other vehicle

A pedestrian was hit and killed on I-94 shortly after he crashed his vehicle with several children inside. Michigan State Police say the initial rollover crash occurred on the well-traveled highway near Harper Avenue at 1:20 a.m. on Monday. Witnesses later told police the vehicle was being driven recklessly before it ran off the roadway and overturned. The man was later identified as the victim in the pedestrian crash that occurred near Gratiot Avenue. DETROIT – Police are looking for a suspected carjacker after an armed robbery on Detroit’s east side. Police said that as he waited, a man approached on foot, entered the victim’s Nissan Altima, produced a weapon and ordered the victim out of the vehicle. Man wanted by Detroit police for larceny at store

Police are searching for this man wanted in connection with a larceny. DETROIT – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a larceny that happened Dec. 29 at 10:30 a.m. inside a store in the 17100 block of Harper Avenue in Detroit. Police say the man walked into the store and put an unknown amount of energy drinks inside of a black backpack. After the theft he fled the store on foot and was last spotted walking on Harper Avenue. Pedestrian in critical condition after collision in Clinton Township

A man was critically injured when in a collision in Clinton Township, Dec. 19, 2020. CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 52-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by a pickup truck as he was crossing the street near the intersection of Cottrell and Harper avenues, just east of I-94, Saturday. According to authorities, the collision happened just before 5:30 p.m. when the pickup truck turned from northbound Harper Avenue onto eastbound Cottrell Avenue, where the man was walking in the crosswalk. Police said the man struck his head and suffered a head injury. Police said the driver, a 53-year-old man from Clinton Township, immediately stopped and rendered aid.

15-year-old girl, 12-year-old girl missing from Detroit’s east side

DETROIT – Police are looking for two girls who went missing on Detroit’s east side. According to authorities, Alexis Gean and Mariah Acosta left their residence near the intersection of Somerset and Harper avenues sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday. She has green eyes, blond hair and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater. She has brown eyes, brown hair and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater. Murder suspect killed by Detroit police after he fires shots at 5th Precinct

DETROIT – Police officers shot and killed a man Tuesday morning who opened fire on the Detroit Police Department’s 5th Precinct. This man then approached the 5th Precinct early Wednesday morning -- about 5:15 a.m. -- in a black SUV. Fast facts:A man fatally shot a woman Monday night near Grand River and Warren avenues. Detroit police said the same man opened fire on the Detroit Police Department’s 5th Precinct about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday. He sat inside the SUV in the parking lot of a closed business not far from the 5th Precinct on Conner Street.

16-year-old girl fatally shot on Detroit’s east side

DETROIT – A 16-year-old girl was killed Sunday night when she was shot during an argument. Police said it happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Beaconsfield Street, near Harper Avenue and Outer Drive. Police said the suspect exited the house and fired a shot into the home, striking the 16-year-old girl. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Janesha Shelton was struck just before her birthday while walking across a Detroit street. Truck ends up on top of Mustang in St. Clair Shores collision

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. A collision Saturday in St. Clair Shores put a pickup truck on top of a Ford Mustang. The crash happened on 13 Mile Road, near Harper Avenue. Police havent released many details, but the driver of the Mustang walked away from the crash with a cut on his arm.
