Alcohol likely involved in motorcycle crash that killed Clinton Township man, police say
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 39-year-old Clinton Township man named Gary King died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday that alcohol was likely involved in, police say. King lost control of his 2020 Harley Davidson and crashed. Debris from the incident led to the Eastpointe man’s 2004 Harley Davidson crashing. The Eastpointe man sustained an arm injured arm during the crash. When a Chesterfield Township police sergeant started CPR on the victim at the scene he was not breathing.

Police investigate deadly motorcycle crash on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Detroit police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that happened Saturday evening. The crash took place Saturday around 7:15 p.m. at Grand River Avenue and Greydale Avenue near West McNichols Road on the city’s west side. Police say a 60-year-old man was speeding and hit another man on a motorcycle. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with police. Read more: Detroit headlines

Motorcyclist involved in fatal crash on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A motorcyclist has died after being involved in a crash on Detroit’s west side on Tuesday night. The crash happened in the area of Lawton and Pasadena streets. Police said the motorcyclist swerved to avoid an oncoming minivan before crashing. He was pronounced dead at the scene. READ: More local news reports

Woman arrested for driving while intoxicated after motorcyclist dies in Groveland Township crash
GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. A motorcyclist was killed when a woman rear-ended them at a high rate of speed early Sunday morning, officials say. Michigan State Police say at about 3:30 a.m. a woman was traveling north on I-75 near Lahring Road at a high rate of speed when she rear-ended the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was killed from the impact of the crash, officials said. The woman who struck the motorcyclist was arrested for operating her vehicle while intoxicated. Northbound lanes of I-75 and two southbound lanes were closed on Sunday following the crash.

Nate Sasser believes he was struck on purpose as he was driving his motorcycle on Detroits east side. He said he made eye contact with the driver as that man was making a left turn. I remember touching myself and thinking Im OK. Im alive,' and attempting to get up, Sasser said. He hit the gas and left me.The father of six said he misses the little things the most, things like jumping out of bed in the morning.

2 people die in motorcycle hit-and-run in western Michigan
CROTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two people riding a motorcycle were killed in a hit-and-run crash in western Michigan, state police said. The victims were a 63-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman from Newaygo. They were hit while riding a motorcycle Saturday in Newaygo County's Croton Township, 40 miles (64 kilometers) north of Grand Rapids. The silver car probably has damage on the passenger side and is missing a passenger side mirror. The car was trying to pass another vehicle when it struck the motorcycle.

Wanted man found, arrested in connection with fatal hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Detroit after 11 months
DETROIT A man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Detroit has been found and arrested after nearly a year in hiding. On July 28, 2019, 31-year-old Herman Walters was riding a motorcycle when a high-speed driver slammed into him on the southbound Southfield Service Drive near Schoolcraft Street. Walters, also known as Rocky, died at the hospital following the incident. MORE: Mother pleads for justice 5 months after son killed in hit-and-run motorcycle crash in DetroitPolice identified Cook, a 37-year-old man from Detroit, as the driver of the vehicle that hit and dragged Walters. Marshals have been searching for the man after he fled the scene and went into hiding following the crash.

Motorcyclist killed in crash on I-75 in Oakland County
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A fatal crash shut down both directions of I-75 on Monday night at 14 Mile Road. A man riding a motorcycle was killed in the crash in Oakland County. 37-year-old killed in Shelby Township motorcycle, car crash
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A person riding a motorcycle was killed after colliding with a vehicle in Shelby Township on Monday night. Shelby Township police say that around 10:51 p.m. the 37-year-old from Roseville was traveling northbound on Schoenherr Road on a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle when they collided with a 2015 Cadillac SRX traveling southbound on Schoenherr Road and making a left turn onto Greenville Drive. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Officials say alcohol did not appear to be a factor. Motorcyclist killed after losing control, crashing in Lenawee County
WOODSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday after losing control and crashing in Lenawee County, police said. Paul Bishop, 51, of Onstead, was driving a motorcycle around 1 a.m. Wednesday on Devils Lake Highway north of of U.S. 223 in Woodstock Township, according to authorities. Michigan State Police troopers said Bishop was heading south on Devils Lake Highway on a 2005 Harley Davidson when he crossed the center line and began to brake. He lost control of the motorcycle, went off the north side of the roadway and crashed into a berm, officials said. He was not wearing a helmet, according to state police.

Motorcyclist in hospital after being struck by driver who ran red light in Detroit, police say
DETROIT – A motorcyclist is in the hospital after being struck by a driver who ran a red light on Detroit’s west side, police said. A 39-year-old man was heading south on Hubbell Avenue at Grand River Avenue around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to authorities. The driver of a Chevrolet Traverse -- a 28-year-old man -- failed to stop at a red light and struck the motorcycle, officials said. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, medical officials said. Police said they took the driver of the Traverse into custody.
