GENESEE COUNTY, MI — Eight dogs rescued from a Genesee County home after being severely neglected are up for adoption at Genesee County Animal Control, meaning they may soon have new homes. “There’s an individual that’s responsible for the treatment of this animal and seven others,” Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said Tuesday, Feb. 15 at a joint news conference with Crime Stoppers outside Genesee County Animal Control. One of the dogs, a 2-year-old Pitbull-mix named Thrax, had the worst of the injuries among the dogs rescued, the sheriff said. Animal control officials tried to save Thrax’s leg upon bringing him to the shelter but were unable to do so.
