2 women killed in crash at Joy Road, Trinity Street in Detroit
DETROIT – Two women were killed Monday morning when their vehicle struck a utility pole at Joy Road and Trinity Street in Detroit. Police said the women were traveling in a 2005 Saab when the vehicle left the road and hit the pole. It’s unclear what caused this deadly crash. No other injuries have been reported. It remains under investigation.

DETROIT – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection to Nov. 4 vehicle theft on Detroit’s west side. According to authorities, it happened at about 7:15 a.m. at a gas station near the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Joy Road. Police said the suspect exited a stolen 2008 Honda Odyssey, entered an unoccupied 2013 Chevrolet Traverse that was left unlocked and running at the gas pump and left the location in the vehicle. Man drives to gas station after being shot on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A 22-year-old man drove himself to a gas station after being shot on Detroit’s west side Saturday night. Police said the victim started to drive away when an unknown person fired a gunshot into the victim’s vehicle. Police said the victim drove to a gas station a few blocks north, in the 15400 block of Joy Road, where he then called 911. Driver in Detroit crash that killed 6-year-old boy charged with second-degree murder, driving while intoxicated
DETROIT – A Detroit woman is being charged with second-degree murder and driving while intoxicated following a car crash that killed a 6-year-old boy Monday night. One 6-year-old child and the infant are Keith’s children. The other 6-year-old child and the 3-year-old were the children of a friend, according to officials. Keith’s vehicle flipped and landed upside down on Joy Road, police say. A 6-year-old boy -- who was not Keith’s child -- was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Driver arrested in Detroit crash that killed 6-year-old boy
DETROIT – Two employees at a car repair shop witnessed the violent traffic crash that killed a 6-year-old boy on Detroit’s west side Monday night. According to police, a woman driving an SUV with the boy and three other children collided with another SUV near Joy Road and Artesian Street. The 6-year-old boy, one of the son’s friends, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the SUV, along with the man driving the other SUV, were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman driving the SUV has been taken into police custody and is awaiting charges.

Police looking for driver of pickup truck involved in fatal hit-and-run on Detroits west side
DETROIT Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck they said was involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Detroits west side. The incident happened Friday before 8:30 p.m. in the area of Greenfield Road and Joy Road. Police said a woman was walking across the road when she was struck by a pickup truck, dragged and killed. According to authorities, at about 5:30 p.m. July 10, a 47-year-old man was driving a blue Chevrolet Silverado truck westbound on Joy Road. Video footage captured from a nearby Project Greenlight location shows an unknown man produce a handgun and fire multiple shots into the Silverado. Detroit police seek black SUV in connection to fatal shooting on city’s west side
DETROIT – Police are looking for information related to a fatal shooting that happened Friday night on Detroit’s west side. According to authorities, at about 11:30 p.m. in the 10400 block of Joy Road, a family was riding in a vehicle when the driver unintentionally cut off a black SUV. Police said the SUV pulled alongside the vehicle and an unknown person began to fire shots, striking the 19-year-old woman. Police described the vehicle as a newer model Ford Explorer with a license plate or vanity plate on the front. Authorities are investigating a house fire on Pearson Street in the area of Joy Road and Evergreen. Sources told Local 4 four people have been taken to the hospital. 16-year-old boy shot at White Castle on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A 16-year-old boy was shot Wednesday morning at a White Castle restaurant in the 8800 block of Greenfield Road. The restaurant is at the northwest corner of Greenfield and Joy roads. Man stabbed at busy Joy, Greenfield roads intersection in Detroit
DETROIT – Police cars and crime scene tape blocked the intersection of Joy and Greenfield roads for hours Tuesday morning. Lori Fields was on her way to the bus stop when the heavy police presence caught her attention. “I saw the police up here and I was like, ‘What happened?’ because obviously they have the whole street blocked off,” she said. Detroit police said a 66-year-old man was stabbed in his head and his butt at the intersection early Tuesday morning.
