Monroe County hit-and-run, armed robbery suspect arrested after police pursuit into Toledo
TOLEDO – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of crimes after a two-state police pursuit Saturday night. Just after 5 p.m., a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy in Lambertville, just north of Toledo, was informed by a citizen of a damaged black Impala parked at a Rite Aid Pharmacy located near the intersection of Secor and Sterns roads. Deputies pursued the suspect southbound into Toledo, where they turned the pursuit over to the Toledo Police Department, who took the man into custody. He is currently lodged at the Lucas County Jail, pending extradition to Michigan for face charges of armed robbery, felonious assault and more. 29-year-old woman struck in Pontiac hit-and-run dies
PONTIAC, Mich. – A 29-year-old woman has died nearly 48 hours after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Pontiac Monday night. On Dec. 7, Vannessa Deanes was tragically struck by a Chevy Impala while crossing North Perry Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Deanes was listed in critical condition Monday night, and ultimately passed away due to her injuries. Russini had worked with Deanes for years at the Heritage Baptist Church, where she once helped out with children during Sunday school. Police say it was a 31-year-old man behind the wheel who kept driving after hitting the 29-year-old woman.
Milford police seek driver in hit and run of 60-year-old bicyclist
MILFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are seeking a driver accused of striking and injuring a 60-year-old bicyclist and then fleeing the scene on Friday afternoon in Milford Township. According to authorities, at about 7:40 p.m. a 60-year-old man riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle in the area of East Buno and Child’s Lake roads. The man sustained significant, but not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to the hospital, officials said. The driver reportedly fled the scene following the collision. DETROIT A tow truck driver was badly injured in a hit-and-run incident on I-94 Tuesday night. He hooking up a car to be towed away when he was hit in the eastbound lanes near Woodward Avenue. I got a strange voice over the 2-way radio from a lady who was hysterical," Williams said. DETROIT Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck they said was involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Detroits west side. The incident happened Friday before 8:30 p.m. in the area of Greenfield Road and Joy Road. Police said a woman was walking across the road when she was struck by a pickup truck, dragged and killed. Detroit police seek driver who lost control doing donuts, injured 3 people
DETROIT Police are seeking the driver of a gray Dodge Charger who allegedly injured three people early Monday morning. According to officials at about 2:10 a.m. the three individuals were watching the unknown driver of the Dodge Charger do donuts in the area of Livernois and West Warren Avenue. Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the three pedestrians and then fled south on Livernois. All three victims were taken to the hospital -- two were listed in critical condition and one was listed in temporary serious condition. Wanted man found, arrested in connection with fatal hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Detroit after 11 months
DETROIT A man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Detroit has been found and arrested after nearly a year in hiding. On July 28, 2019, 31-year-old Herman Walters was riding a motorcycle when a high-speed driver slammed into him on the southbound Southfield Service Drive near Schoolcraft Street. Walters, also known as Rocky, died at the hospital following the incident. Pontiac man arrested after driving into telephone pole, fleeing, resisting arrest, police say
PONTIAC, Mich. A 43-year-old man was arrested for driving into a telephone pole then fleeing the scene in Pontiac on Sunday morning. Police say a witness saw the man drive into a telephone pole on Dakota Street and then flee the scene on a skateboard around 10:30 a.m. The deputy ordered the man to drop the tire but he swung it in the deputys direction before dropping it. Another deputy arrived and they arrested the man without further incident, police say. The Pontiac man was transported to Oakland County Jail.
Child killed, 2 others injured in violent crash on Detroits east side
DETROIT A child was killed and two others were rushed to a hospital after a violent crash on Detroits east side. Officials with the Detroit Fire Department said an SUV was being chased when it hit another SUV, not involved in the chase. It happened Thursday evening in the area of Field Street and Agnes, near East Grand Boulevard. The SUV being pursued had three adults and three children inside. Police are still searching for the driver responsible.
