Police investigating shooting at Troy apartment complex
TROY, MI – Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in Troy. According to the Troy Police Department, officers responded to The Gables of Troy Apartments, 700 Lamplighter, at 9:52 p.m. on Thursday. A preliminary investigation revealed that there were two groups of males involved in the altercation, which occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Responding officers arrived in the area and stopped a vehicle fleeing the apartment complex. A family dog was found with him, dead from a gunshot from a handgun discovered at the crash scene on Parrot Drive near Edgemont Drive. The father of the suspect — who called 9-1-1 moments after the shooting at the Lark Drive house — remains in critical but stable condition at a nearby hospital, the Troy police report stated. (CBS DETROIT) – The Troy Police Department is mourning the loss of a dispatcher as a result of a heart attack that happened on duty. Communications Supervisor Curtis Reynolds, Jr. died Sept. 25 at a local hospital after being unresponsive at work. Troy Police say it happened the morning of Sept. 19 which was also Reynolds’ 50th birthday. He was treated at the hospital for several days and as a result of the heart attack, Reynolds sustained diminished brain activity and passed away. On February 20, 2018, Reynolds was supervising the Communications Section when a barricaded gunman incident occurred at house on Brooklawn.

(CBS DETROIT) The Troy Police Department is warning employees of scams targeting restaurant employees. Police say an incident took place at Five Guys and Ocean Prime where employees were scammed into buying gift cards. Police say $2,164 was placed on five debit cards and the employee took photographs of the front and back of the cards which she sent to the caller. Police say the gift cards needed to be registered online and hadnt been, so Walmart may have been able to stop the transfer of funds in time. The victim was instructed to take $5,000 of the restaurants money and purchase gift cards which he did.
