Vehicle crash investigation closes Jackson intersection
JACKSON, MI -- A busy Jackson roadway has been closed for several hours Friday as police investigate a vehicle crash. Both lanes of Cooper Street near Porter Street currently are closed on Aug. 5, due to a vehicle crash, officials said. The intersection is located near a Citgo gas station at the northern Jackson city limits. The closure of the intersection was announced by the Michigan Department of Transportation at 7:07 a.m. Friday. As of 10 a.m., the closure is still active as police investigate the scene.

3 people injured in crash after police officer drives through stop sign in Detroit
DETROIT – Three people, including a Detroit police officer, were injured in a vehicle crash Monday after the officer drives through a stop sign. The crash happened in the area of Burt Road and Trojan Avenue. Police said they were responding to reports of another collision nearby when the officer when the police cruiser ran a stop sign. An SUV -- with a mother and her two daughters inside -- crashed into the cruiser. The two daughters, who are in their teens, and the officer were taken to a hospital and are in stable condition.
Police say distracted driver hit semi truck in southwest Detroit
DETROIT – Detroit police said distracted driving was the cause for a vehicle to slam into a semi Thursday. The crash happened on John Kronk Street near Livernois Avenue. Driver killed in high-speed crash on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Investigators said a driver was killed Tuesday night in a vehicle crash in the middle of a neighborhood on Detroit’s west side. The crash happened in the area of Burt Road and Florence Street. The driver was speeding when he hit another vehicle and was ejected from the car. Police investigate violent crash in I-94 construction zone in Detroit
DETROIT – Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Monday at a construction zone on westbound Interstate 94 in Detroit near Van Dyke Avenue. Officials said the driver in a Dodge Challenger was believed to be traveling more than 100 miles per hour before hitting a Chevy Malibu and a utility pole, landing upside down. Monroe County deputy, member of fire department crash while responding to same emergency
MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Monroe County deputy and a member of the Monroe Township Fire Department were both hospitalized Friday morning after their vehicles collided while responding to the same emergency. Authorities say that at about 7:48 a.m. Friday, the Monroe County sheriff deputy was traveling westbound on Dunbar Road while responding to an emergency call. Officials say the truck was driven by a member of the Monroe Township Fire Department, who was actually responding to the same emergency as the deputy. The deputy was conscious and alert following the crash, according to authorities. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has any information is asked to contact police at 734-242-3500.

Man crashes car into Detroit gas station after fatally wounded in drive-by shooting
DETROIT – Police are looking for a man who was caught on video firing several shots into another vehicle outside a gas station, killing the driver of the vehicle on Friday morning. According to Detroit police, the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of a silver Ford Fusion parked at a gas pump in the 10600 block of E. Outer Drive. Police said the Chevrolet drove away after shooting at the vehicle, but then returned and fired several more shots into the Ford Fusion, fatally wounding the man, whose identity is unknown. After the victim was struck, his Ford Fusion accelerated forward and crashed into the wall of the gas station building. Police said the shooter was seen wearing a light colored jacket, dark colored hat and light colored face mask.

Man dies after intentional Detroit car crash results in gunfire, police say
DETROIT – A man involved in an alleged intentional car crash in Detroit early Saturday morning has died. When troopers arrived at the scene of the crash, they found a wounded man laying on the ground and an uninjured female passenger, officials said. Officials believe the car crash was intentional and that the individuals involved knew each other. Police say the alleged intentional car crash resulted in gunfire. Police identified the uninjured woman as a “female passenger,” but did not say which vehicle she belonged to.
SUV crashes into Grosse Pointe Woods store
GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. – A black SUV crashed into a wine shop Tuesday night in Grosse Pointe Woods. Officials said that just before 8 p.m., the SUV veered off Mack Avenue, hitting small trees and parking meters before crashing into the front entrance of Merchant’s Fine Wine & Spirits. Irene, who lives nearby, said she stops into the store often and could not believe the damage done to the building. “I heard a bomb (sound) but I didn’t know if it’s in here or next door,” she said. “Everybody loves the store.”Grosse Pointe Woods police are still investigating.

A 12-year-old boy was injured in the crash. “I can’t imagine what that mom’s going through, I can’t imagine getting that phone call. I can’t imagine losing a husband and child. “The was just sobbing, just sobbing and I walked over to him and gave him a hug,” she said.
North Carolina man charged in crash that killed 4-year-old daughter in Livingston County
LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – A 36-year-old North Carolina man has been charged in a vehicle crash that killed his 4-year-old daughter in Livingston County. Officials said Jonathan Osborne, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, is charged with one count of moving violation causing death, two counts of moving violation causing serious injury and one count of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. UPDATE: North Carolina man charged in crash that killed 4-year-old daughter in Livingston CountyAccording to authorities, the man’s 33-year-old wife, 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police say the 4-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died at the scene. The driver, his wife and 8-year-old son were removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel and taken to the hospital for their injuries. Officials with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office believe that excessive speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

DETROIT – Police said a driver was injured after a vehicle that was reported stolen collided with him at the intersection of St. Marys Street and Pembroke Avenue. Truck crash causes power outage along Haggerty Road in Canton Township, police say
CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police said a truck crash in Canton Township Friday has caused a power outage along Haggerty Road between Palmer Road and Michigan Avenue. According to the Canton Public Safety, the fire department and DTE are on the scene. Traffic lights in the area may be impacted and drivers are advised to treat the intersections as a four-way stop. “Use caution in the area and remain at least 20 feet from any downed wires. According to the DTE outage map, more than 500 customers in the area are without power as of 10 p.m. Friday.
Vehicle crashes into fire hydrant along Schoenherr Road in Shelby Township
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Both directions of Schoenherr Road were closed Wednesday night between 21 Mile and 22 Mile roads in Shelby Township for emergency repairs after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant. There were no serious injuries reported. The crash caused a sinkhole, shutting down the road for emergency repairs. The road remained closed Thursday morning. Man hit, killed while walking into CVS store in Farmington
FARMINGTON, Mich. – Farmington police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the CVS store near the intersection of Farmington Road and Grand River. “It was around 4:30 p.m. today (Friday) when we got a number of calls in regard to an accident,” said Farmington Public Safety Director Frank Demers. “Backing out of the parking spot, her foot went from the brake to the accelerator. We think the vehicle probably went back about 20 feet before making contact with the victim who was walking into the store,” said Demers. “People did what they could to help.”Police said they don’t believe drugs or alcohol played a factor.

4 children injured in 2-vehicle crash on I-94 at Cadieux Road
DETROIT – Four children, between ages 4 and 14, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night on westbound Interstate 94 at Cadieux Road. Michigan State Police was dispatched at about 8:20 p.m., according to a series of tweets from the department. A preliminary investigation indicated that two vehicles were attempting to exit at Cadieux Road at the same time. MSP said one of the vehicles blocked the left lane of westbound I-94. According to MSP, a 6-year-old was seriously injuries, a 4-year-old is in temporary serious condition, and a 9-year-old and 14-year-old are both in stable condition.
Single-car crash kills 1 teenage boy, seriously injures 3 others in Manistee County
MANISTEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating a single-car crash that killed one teenage passenger and seriously injured three others Friday night. Michigan State Police say at about 9:50 p.m. four teenage males from Manistee County were driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on River Road in Manistee Township when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road. Police say when they arrived at the scene, one passenger was still stuck inside the vehicle and had to be removed. All four occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Police believe that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash.
Family mourns construction worker hit, killed by driver in Ypsilanti Township
LANSING, Mich. – The family of a Lansing man who was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver in Ypsilanti Township gathered on Tuesday to honor him. Twenty-three-year-old Davyon Rose was one of two construction workers killed on Saturday on Interstate 94. The other man killed, Nicholas Andres Sada, was Rose’s longtime friend. Even though he is not here, he will forever be with us.”Police identified the driver as 29-year-old Ryann Musselman, of Belleville.
