Chances for snow showers continue into the forecast looking ahead into the end of the week

Most of Southeast Michigan will be under a frost advisory on Thursday morning.

The two are accused of stealing more than 25 Dodge Durango SUVs from dealerships in Macomb, Oakland and Genesee counties.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy, breezy, and cool. As a cooler air mass slides over Southeast Michigan, the temperatures will tumble into the upper 40s near Detroit and around 40 degrees in the Thumb. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

DETROIT An Air Quality Alert is in effect for Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties Thursday. Air pollution levels will increase and, therefore, air quality will decrease. To keep air quality more acceptable, carpooling, taking the bus, refraining from using gas-powered equipment after noon and re-fueling after dusk are great options. Saturday will be a scorcher with blazing sunshine and afternoon temperatures near 90 degrees. With enough sunlight, daytime temps will be near 90 degrees.

Highs today should reach the low to mid 80s (28 to 30 degrees Celsius), with southwest winds shifting to the northwest at 10 to 15 mph. Becoming mostly clear and much more comfortable Wednesday night, with lows in the low 60s (16 to 17 degrees Celsius). DETROIT Some areas of mid and southeast Michigan were hit by severe thunderstorms overnight. There have been some tree damage reports, including a large limb taking down a power line in Mount Morris, causing a power outage. Aside from that, the Local 4Casters say rest of the area appears to have escaped the worst. DETROIT – When the snow is done falling Saturday, Metro Detroit is expected to be blanketed in 5-8 inches. Keep up with the latest forecast here. A dangerous winter storm is moving through Michigan this weekend, bringing potentially catastrophic levels of ice, along with flooding rains and snow, depending on where you live in the state. An Ice Storm Warning is in effect for Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Oakland and Sanilac Counties from 4 a.m. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Macomb and St. Clair Counties from 4 a.m. Here are the expected storm total snow, sleet and freezing rain totals for today and tonight. The snow may fall heavily at times and when combined with gusty winds will lead to hazardous travel with significantly reduced visibility.

Remember, freezing rain is extremely deceiving because it’s liquid water when it falls but turns to solid ice upon impact. 9 a.m. to noon SaturdayAs it becomes colder, freezing rain develops north and west of Detroit. The steadiest, most widespread freezing rain will fall in Livingston, Oakland and Macomb counties northward to the I-69 corridor and the thumb. 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. SaturdayTemperatures hover around the freezing mark around the region, and freezing rain becomes more scattered. On top of that, another wave of freezing rain and rain will race through before midnight.

DETROIT – A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for Genesee, Lapeer, Sanilac and St. Clair Counties from 11:00 p.m., Saturday, to 10:00 a.m., Sunday. It remains cloudy the rest of the day, and rain and slippery weather hold off until nightfall. Drier weather returns after the holiday weekend. Rain remains possible with overnight lows in the middle 30s in these places. A wintry mix remains possible north of M-59.

MICHIGAN – The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Sanilac, Genesee, Lapeer and St. Clair counties that will remain in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday. Freezing rain is expected in all four counties with ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch or less. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph will decrease during the course of the morning. DETROIT A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for Sanilac and St. Clair Counties from 4 a.m. A LAKESHORE FLOOD ADVISORY is in effect for Sanilac and St. Clair Counties from now to 4 a.m. The Veterans Day snow storm will be developing overnight and on the holiday. By dawn, Veterans Day, Monday, many areas will have a half inch to an inch of snow on the ground. Neighborhoods in Sanilac and St. Clair Counties will have 4 to 6 inches of snow because of lake enhancement from Lake Huron.
