Police said the driver who first crashed intentionally into the median fled the area on foot. However, they were found by police -- officers suspect the driver was operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

According to police, the victim was changing a flat tire on the right shoulder of I-696 west of Dequindre Road when a vehicle struck them around midnight. The vehicle -- possibly a 2000-07 Ford Focus -- fled the scene, police said. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Angry McDonaldโs customers in Troy yell slurs, throw salad, punch employee
The incident happened at 1:53 p.m. March 9 at the McDonaldโs restaurant at 36895 Dequindre Road in Troy, according to authorities. A group of four customers got angry when their order wasnโt delivered to their table, police said. One of the customers began to yell racism slurs toward the employees, and another threw a salad, striking one of the employees, according to officials. When they left the restaurant, an employee tried to look at their license plate, officials said. The group continue to yell racial slurs at the employees as they drove off in the Dodge Caravan, police said.

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. โ Madison Heights police are investigating a hit-and-run on Dequindre Road near Jenifer Street that killed a 54-year-old man. The victim was found lying in the south-bound lane of Dequindre Road about 8 p.m. Tuesday. Multiple people stopped to block traffic until first responders arrived, according to the Madison Heights Police Department. The victim was seen asking for money prior to the incident and is suspected of being homeless, according to the MHPD. WARREN, Mich. - On Saturday at around 10:25 p.m. police responded to a crash on eastbound I-696 east of Dequindre Road in Warren for a crash. Police say a 29-year-old man from Westland stopped his car on the freeway for an unknown reason. A second vehicle could not stop and struck the man and his car, police say. The second vehicle pulled over onto the right shoulder up ahead of the crash scene. Police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

TROY, Mich. - A Warren woman threw a drink at a man who chased her down and blocked her after she stole a construction worker's car in Troy, police said. Stacey Nicole McCombs, 31, of Warren, is accused of stealing a black 2002 Volkswagen Jetta at 8:59 a.m. Aug. 6, on Dequindre Road, south of East Big Beaver Road in Troy, according to authorities. The car was parked on Dequindre Road near a construction site because it was owned by one of the workers, officials said. Another employee got into a company pickup truck and followed McCombs as she drove south onto Dequindre Road and behind the businesses on East Maple Road, west of Dequindre Road, according to authorities. McCombs got out of the Jetta and threw a drink at the employee, according to officials.
