Man shot twice outside Fairlane Town Center, police search for gunman
DEARBORN โ Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire Monday outside of the Fairlane Town Center. One man was shot twice in what Dearborn police said was an attempted robbery. Police said that at about 5:50 p.m., a man in his 50s was shot twice outside of the door. Now, police are looking the gunman, who left the area in a red Dodge Charger. Federal lawsuit filed against city of Dearborn, police department
DEARBORN, Mich. โ A federal lawsuit was filed after a local father said he asked for directions from a police officer and was assaulted. Court documents claim Luther Gonzalez-Hall, 22, asked Dearborn Police officer Marvin Sanders for directions and the interaction ended with the officer assaulting and choking Gonzalez-Hall. At one point during the confrontation, Sandersโ bodycam falls to the ground. โI didnโt believe that it was real.โNow Gonzalez-Hall is suing Sanders, the city of Dearborn and the Dearborn Police Department for the way he was treated. When Local 4 asked about the status of officer Sanders, the Dearborn Police Department immediately asked the Defenders to submit a Freedom of Information Act request.
Man stabbing woman in face, head killed by police at Dearborn apartment
DEARBORN, Mich. โ Police shot and killed a 43-year-old man on Sunday while responding to a domestic violence call at a Dearborn apartment. Haddad says an officer shot and killed the 43-year-old man who was repeatedly stabbing the woman in the bathroom of the apartment. The Dearborn woman was not shot during the incident, but she suffered from critical injuries from the stabbing, according to officials. The 43-year-old man, also from Dearborn, was reportedly wanted for multiple felonies and was a parole absconder. According to authorities, without the work of the first responders, the Dearborn woman would have died at the scene.

Westland man charged in fatal shooting on Holly Street in Dearborn
DEARBORN, Mich. โ A Westland man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Dearborn that left a 26-year-old man dead, according to the Wayne County Prosecutorโs Office. Prosecutors charged Brandon Kournoian, 29, with felony murder, first-degree home invasion, felon in possession of a firearm and three counts of felony firearm. The incident happened Sunday in 2700 block of Holly Street. Prosecutors said Kournoian allegedly got into an argument with the victim, identified as Keith Thomas, of Dearborn, before it escalated to a physical altercation and the victim was shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who was transported to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. โ A 35-year-old man is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct after Allen Park police said he met a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat. Allen Park police investigated when the girlโs parents reported her missing on Aug. 19. Hodges, who is HIV positive, is charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct along with another count involving someone under 13. It began when the girl was chatting on the app with Hodges, who she thought was 19 years old. The relationship started to come out when the girlโs parents reported her missing.

DETROIT Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator who abandoned two dogs in an outdoor pen at the shelters Greenfield location on Friday, Aug 7. Between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. that day, two dogs were left abandoned in an outdoor pen at Friends for Animals of Metro Detroits Intake Center at 2661 Greenfield Road in Dearborn. The dogs, both estimated to be around a year old, are a male German Shepherd the shelter has named Billy, and a female boxer mix the shelter has named Honey. Shelter staff found the dogs together in the pen when they reported to work on Saturday morning. A reward of $500 will be given for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.

1 injured after shots fired at vehicle in Dearborn, police say
DEARBORN, Mich. โ One person is in serious condition following a shooting on Dearbornโs west side on Saturday. Police say at about 9:50 p.m. a vehicle was in a median preparing to turn onto northbound Telegraph Road south of Cherry Hill Street when shots were fired at the vehicle. One passenger was struck and taken to the hospital where they were listed in serious condition. A second vehicle was also struck by gunfire while traveling northbound on Telegraph Road, officials said. No passengers in the second vehicle were injured in the shooting.

Dearborn police say at about 12:40 a.m. an unknown vehicle struck a man in the area of Michigan Avenue and Gulley Road. The victim, a Detroit resident, was taken to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, police said. Dearborn police looking for driver in connection to hit-and-run of bicyclist
DEARBORN, Mich. Dearborn police are seeking the public help in identifying the drive of a four-door sedan in connection with a hit-and-run incident with a bicyclist on May 28. Police say at around 2:30 p.m. a bicyclist was crossing Bingham Street when they collided with a silver sedan entering southbound Bingham Street from Ford Road. The driver of the vehicle continued driving following the incident. The bicyclist did sustain injuries but has been released from the hospital and is in recovery, officials said. Detroit animal shelter offers $500 reward for help to identify, arrest person wanted for abandoning dog on side of road
DEARBORN, Mich. โ Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD) is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of a person that abandoned a dog on the side of the road. FAMD says a 60-pound dog was abandoned and crammed into a small cage on the side of the road on around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. The dog was taken to FAMD in Dearborn after someone who noticed the dog pulled over and called the police. Officials say the dog is friendly and in otherwise good condition. Officials say abandonment of a pet is a misdemeanor that is punishable by up to a $500 fine and 30 days in jail.
Dearborn man charged with first-degree murder in death of 29-year-old woman
DETROIT โ A Dearborn man is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of a 29-year-old woman who was found dead in her bathtub in April. After an investigation, 32-year-old Dearborn resident Hassan Alwaily was identified as a suspect, police said. The continuing investigation and additional evidence resulted in charges of Felony Murder and First-Degree Murder filed against Alwaily. โThe work that was done by the Dearborn Police Department and the Wayne County Prosecutorโs spanned 24 days almost around the clock. I want to publicly thank all of the Investigators in this case for their tireless work despite the mounting challenges of the Coronavirus," said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

Dearborn police investigating after 29-year-old woman found dead in bathtub
DEARBORN, Mich. โ Dearborn police are investigating after a woman was found dead in a bathtub Tuesday. Police said the 29-year-old woman was found in the 24000 block of Dunning Street. Officials called the death suspicious, but they are still awaiting the toxicology report and medical examiner report.
Dearborn police locate teen who left home with unknown person
DEARBORN, Mich. โ UPDATE: Police said Monday at 10 p.m. that Reem Alsaidi has been located and is safe. Michigan State Police officers are now assisting in the search for a missing 14-year-old girl who left home with an unknown person early Saturday morning. Police say 14-year-old Reem Alsaidi willingly left home around 5:15 a.m. and was seen entering a white or gray sedan that pulled up in front of her home. It is unknown what clothing she may be wearing but was last seen with a backpack. Pictures of the gray sedan can be seen below.
