Officers found the teenaged girl, who allegedly had been shot by her stepfather, police said. Police also said a neighbor, who was trying to help the teen girl, was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital. “I believe, to my knowledge, there was a lady who lived next to me, she was shot in the knee,” Henahan said.
Detroit hotel worker shot after intervening in fight between man and woman
The gunman left the location after the hotel worker intervened then came back and started shooting the 61-year-old victim. DETROIT – On Saturday, a worker at the Downtown Detroit Baymont Inn and Suites was shot and injured after trying to break up a fight between a man and woman. Police added that the gunman was having a verbal altercation with the woman when the hotel worker got involved. The gunman left the location after the hotel worker intervened then came back and started shooting the 61-year-old victim. Police describe the gunman as a 140 pound Black man who is 5 feet, 2 inches tall.
Gunman in violent murder of 28-year-old Warren resident arraigned
WARREN, Mich. – On Friday, a 28-year-old Warren man died after being shot five times in the head and neck by a 27-year-old man, police say. The suspect was arrested in Detroit and taken into police custody on Saturday, according to Warren Police Commissioner, William Dwyer. Warren police say evidence collected showed the gunman shot the victim while he was on the ground in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Police say the gunman shot the victim three additional times in the head as he was on the ground unable to defend himself. The gunman was arraigned Tuesday at 2 p.m. on charges at the Warren 37th District Court.

NBC 25 reports an 11-month-old girl is in critical condition after she and four other people were shot on Tebo Street. DETROIT – Two people were shot on Detroit’s west side Friday after a dating app meet up turned into a robbery. The shooting took place in the 9300 block of Woodside in Detroit at around 9:30 p.m. Friday. Police say that is where a 57-year-old man went to meet a woman he found on the dating app. Police say the two were hospitalized and are currently still in critical condition. DETROIT – A 29-year-old woman died after being shot in the parking lot of a Detroit lounge shortly after 12 a.m. Sunday, according to police. Detroit police say the woman was in the parking lot of the lounge when the shooter pulled up in a black Kia and started firing shots. The victim was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead there. Gyasi Arnez Stribling, the victim’s 20-year-old brother, is now facing charges. He’s accused of shooting Bailei Singleton at the 12 North Apartments on 12 Mile Road, between Northwestern Highway and Telegraph Road. The girl had been in critical condition at a hospital after being shot in her head. Police said he allegedly fabricated a story and said Bailei had been shot during an attempted robbery.

VA Ann Arbor one of first VA sites to receive doses of COVID-19 vaccine

According to a news release, the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center was selected for its ability to inoculate a large population and store the vials at extremely cold temperatures. In compliance with Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, the Ann Arbor VAMC will start vaccinating veterans in long-term VA health care facilities and health care personnel. Like healthcare systems around the country, VA Ann Arbor will begin a limited-supply phase followed by a mass implementation phase once a large vaccine supply is available. “As more vaccine becomes available, eligible Veterans will be contacted directly to discuss specifics and set appointments to receive the vaccine.”

Detroit family pleads for clues in murder of beloved father
DETROIT – Jamie Tackett remembers her 42-year-old brother, Barry Herborn as being family oriented. “He was really family oriented. We lost a dad, my mom lost a son, his wife lost a great husband. Detroit police say Herborn was shot and killed on Nov. 6 at the intersection of Alcoy and East State Fair Street. Herborn’s family said he recently lost a son, so this is the second tragedy for the family.
Shooting victim’s vehicle blocks lane, causes crash on Southfield Freeway
DETROIT – Michigan State Police said troopers were dispatched about 3:20 a.m. Monday to northbound Southfield Freeway (M-39) just north of 8 Mile Road after the report of a shooting in Detroit. There had been a shooting that police believe happened on 7 Mile Road near the Southfield Freeway. The victim fled the area after being shot, entered northbound Southfield Freeway but came to a rest on the freeway, blocking the left northbound lane just north of 8 Mile Road. Another vehicle that was not involved in the shooting rear-ended the shooting victim’s vehicle. State police said the shooting victim fled the crash scene on foot and was located by Southfield police.
1 person shot on Clancy Street in Roseville
ROSEVILLE, Mich. – One person was shot Monday morning in the 26000 block of Clancy Street in Roseville. Roseville police said officers were dispatched on the report of a drive-by shooting about 5:15 a.m. A female Roseville resident was hurt and transported to a nearby hospital. She was struck once in the head and the bullet fractured her skull. She is under observation in a hospital and expected to make a full recovery, police said.
