DEARBORN, MI โ One person was shot and killed by a police officer Sunday afternoon after entering the Dearborn Police Department and allegedly attempting to shoot the officer. Dearborn police officials say no officers were harmed in the shooting. The officer behind the desk fired multiple rounds at the person, striking them, according to Dearborn police. Dearborn police say there are no known threats to the public or the Dearborn Police Department at this time. The police department lobby remains closed as an investigation takes place.

According to DHS, the newly-appointed Council will enhance efforts to protect houses of worship while also improving coordination and sharing of threat information with faith communities. The recently-announced members represent various faith communities and a diversity of denominations, as well as law enforcement.

The suspects fled the store to an awaiting white Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger fled the scene at a high rate of speed northbound on Oakman, where it struck the rear of a police vehicle before becoming disabled. The occupants of the Dodge Charger then fled on foot into the neighborhood.

This week, WXYZ reported that police are ticketing parents and family members at Fordson High School in east Dearborn who park or sometimes stop in the left and middle lanes of the busy Ford Road to drop off or pick up their students. Parents are facing tough fines, with police issuing $175 tickets for impeding traffic. On Wednesday alone, police had issued seven tickets for the violations, and some parents are not happy. Shahin also said that the department is working with the school to come up with a longer-lasting and more affordable solution for parents.
