The snow will stick around Sunday night into early Monday morning as a northwesterly flow kicks into the region, and we could see an additional light accumulation on top of what we are already forecasting throughout much of the day on Sunday.

An isolated rain shower is possible Saturday, with the main event arriving late Saturday night into Sunday morning. A low-pressure system will bring rain and snow showers as colder air moves in Sunday.
Rather quiet today. Cloudy and cooler with highs in the low 40s and still somewhat breezy with gusts possibly reaching 20 mph. The mild air in place will limit the potential for snow accumulations with the system approaching us tonight into tomorrow. A triple point will push through Indiana late tonight. That is where an occluded front, cold front and warm front all intersect and if enough moisture wraps in from the warm sector, heavy rain and storms can develop along the fronts and wrap into the low pressure.
It was nice to see some sunshine as we worked throughout our Wednesday, but it is short-lived. The clouds have moved back into the region, and we will keep them around, and remain dry as we go throughout our Thursday. The clouds, thanks to moisture moving into the region in advance of the rain showers that will head our way. We will also add at least 5 degrees onto our high temperature for Thursday as well. High temperatures heading for the middle 40s by Thursday afternoon.

Good Thursday morning! We have had this trend of harmless high clouds streaking across the Michigan skies and that trend continues today. We have a mix of clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the middle 40s to near 50 degrees for anyone heading out and about early for that walk to work or the simple walk to the car. These clouds are coming from bigger storms to our west, but they will produce no wet weather for us here in Metro Detroit both this morning and this afternoon.
Good Wednesday morning! We have had a few more significant rain showers move through Metro Detroit overnight with a few areas possibly seeing snowflakes trying to stick to grassy areas. Most of us are only seeing liquid precipitation. Temperatures are in the upper 30s with gusty winds creating tough wind chills in the upper 20s to low 30s and the need for a hat and gloves if you have to be out in it. There will be a few showers as we approach sunrise, so the wet roadways will slow down your drive as you get going on a Wednesday with the umbrella by your side. There’s not much good news in these cool temps and blustery conditions, but we also expect fewer showers throughout the day today.
It is a trouble-free start to your Tuesday here in Metro Detroit which is to say it’s a good morning. Skies are mostly clear with temperatures in the low to middle 40s and a few of those usual suburbs will dip quickly into the upper 30s with a little patchy fog. We have many suburbs flirting with freezing temperatures early this morning around Metro Detroit without any Frost Advisories. Good Tuesday morning! Obviously, we will see some patchy frost again this morning the farther away you are from Detroit. Areas within 20 to 30 miles of downtown will stay in the upper 30s to lower 40s under partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. It almost goes without saying that in addition to patchy frost, we will see some patchy fog in the usual spots, just a forewarning for anyone traveling north or heading west on I-94 or I-96 west of I-275.
As I write this, Hurricane Ian is making its second landfall in two days, with the South Carolina coast bearing the brunt. As the storm progresses up the east coast, we’ll be on the fringe of its moisture shield, so expect our mostly clear skies Friday evening to become partly cloudy on Saturday.

The cooler air following the Monday storms is making for some great sleeping weather with the windows open the next few nights if you’re into that sort of thing. Our Finally Friday, as Brandon calls it (and by the way, he’ll be back Monday!), will end the work week in spectacular fashion with lots of sunshine, low humidity, and highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees (26 to 27 degrees Celsius). Wind will be light…from the north at perhaps 3 to 6 mph.
