Amazon driver carjacked, thief drives away with 110 packages in truck
DETROIT -- Police are investigating a carjacking that resulted in more than 100 packages being stolen from a driver delivering for Amazon. The Detroit Police Department says the driver was delivering packages in the area of Renfrew and Pembroke around 6 p.m. on Dec. 30. While in the vehicle, the driver was approached by the suspect who demanded the driver hand over the keys. The driver complied and the suspect then drove away with the truck and the approximately 110 packages that were inside. The thief or thieves left just one of the packages in the truck and made off with the rest.mlive.com

PONTIAC, Mich. – An armed man got inside a driver’s SUV at a stop sign in Pontiac, forced him to drive to another location to open a can of beer and then stole his vehicle, according to police. Oakland County deputies said a 48-year-old Pontiac man stoped at a sign sign at East Rundell Street and North Glenwood Avenue at 8:51 p.m. Monday (Feb. 22). When they arrived, the driver parked the Expedition and the armed man grabbed a can of beer, officials said. The armed man fled the scene in the vehicle, according to police. Officials said the armed man was in his 30s and about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a thin build and dreadlock-style hair with blonde tips.

DETROIT – Police are looking for two men accused of stealing a woman’s vehicle at gunpoint on Detroit’s west side Friday night. Police say at about 11:40 p.m. on Feb. 12, a 27-year-old woman was near a gas pump at gas station in the 15300 block of Wyoming Avenue when an armed suspect exited an unknown vehicle and walked over to her. The suspect, described as a Black man wearing dark clothing and a black surgical mask, announced a hold up and took the woman’s cell phone. Officials say the man then entered the woman’s red 2011 Ford Taurus and drove away. The second suspect, who was only described as a man, also fled the scene in the other, unknown vehicle.

DETROIT – Two Detroit teenagers have been charged with first-degree murder after an Uber driver was found in an alley with fatal injuries from a hammer and knife attack, officials said. Devin Delon McKee, 16, and Lanyah Quan Brady, 15, both of Detroit, are accused of killing Timothy Marcus Perkins, a 60-year-old Uber driver from Southfield, according to authorities. Detroit investigators recovered Perkins’ stolen car and identified McKee and Brady as suspects in the case, police said. Officials accuse McKee and Brady of calling for an Uber driver for the purpose of robbing him. When they were inside Perkins’ car, McKee robbed and carjacked him by attacking him with a hammer and stabbing him with a knife, according to authorities.

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A man whose van was stolen in a violent carjacking in Macomb County is speaking out about the incident. Derek Hill, 52, said he pulled over to help when he saw a woman stranded in a Roseville Del Taco parking lot on Tuesday. It was around 1:30 a.m. when Hill saw a car broken down on Gratiot Avenue at Masonic in Roseville. He said he motioned the person motioned for Hill to roll down his window and that’s when he was punched. Michael Masters of Masters Auto Sales in Roseville heard about the attack and gave Hill one of his vans.

71-year-old man beaten, carjacked in Detroit after saving for 3 years to buy used truck
DETROIT He saved and saved to buy a blue 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage pickup truck. The truck had more than 280,000 miles on it, but 71-year-old Robert didnt care. Standing on his one good leg he was able to maneuver into the truck and put his walker in the back. He grabbed me by the hair, snatched me out of the truck and threw me out on the ground, Robert said. The Detroit Police Department is working the case and some kind neighbors are trying to help out, but he doesnt have money for a new truck.
2 arrested in Somerset Mall carjacking
TROY, Mich. – Two people are in police custody after allegedly hijacking a vehicle outside of Somerset Mall on Thursday morning. Police say at about 7:30 a.m. two males were approached by four people in a silver Nissan when exiting the mall. Two suspects took the victims’ 2016 black Dodge Charger and fled the scene while the other two suspects fled the scene in the Nissan. A black 2016 Dodge Charger was hijacked from two people at Somerset Mall on the morning of July 23, 2020. The two suspects from Tennessee are being housed at the Jackson County Jail and are expected to be arraigned soon.
